Why bother asking such a silly question? You already know the answer.

According to those enlightened folk who still cherish the right to force their daughters to live as brood mares.

I'll have to take your word for it. I've never met any of those.

Now that we've had our little tete-a-tete, it's probably better to talk about abortion in another thread.

The TSA goon issue is big enough for this thread.

Well, my answer is "pompous men who think they have the right to control what a woman does with her own body."

    Yes?

That's because anti-choice types are contemptible fucking cowards who won't openly acknowledge the uglier aspects of their position.

Could be. Easy enough to clear up. Do you think parental consent should be necessary for a minor to get an abortion, yes or no?

    HA! Boy, are YOU mistaken!

That question is about as meaningful as "Do you think parental consent should be necessary for a minor to machine gun an orphanage, yes or no?"

    See? Chickenshit!

To require parental consent for minors to have abortions is to grant them veto power over their daughters' reproductive organs and allow them to force their child to carry a baby to term. There's no denying it, and no hiding from it.

One of many angles the anti-choice types don't like to acknowledge.

The joke was that I was hoping to meet a father who wanted his daughter to be a breeding mare. As in, I wanted to be his daughter's "stud", as it were. You know, pioneer days and all that jazz.

Chickenshit? I would outlaw abortion outright. I wouldn't even allow for the existence of anything like "parental consent".

Or, if you can admit that some people hold to a different outlook than yours and have a right to do so, according to those who think the law should protect the innocent from being killed without due process and the chance to defend themselves.

Right, you'd put women behind bars for having a pussy and free will in combination.

    And then support "libertarians".

On one hand you have a woman who suffered rape or incest and now has to deal with being pregnant.

On the other hand you have a dead baby.

I guess I'm an asshole because I am not quite so convinced that killing babies is a good solution, and disgusted that so many people consider it the EASY solution.

Embryos are sacred, it's when they grow up into hot daughters that "sacred", goes away, you can start raping them.

Well, if you'd have abortion be illegal even in the case of rape, you've pretty much given rapists carte blanche to reproduce with anyone they want, any time they want.

I don't see how one could support rape more, short of setting them all free from jails.

This is one of those things that will never be truly settled. It comes down to whether life begins at conception, whether a human being has a "soul", the rights of women and the viability of their potential offspring, things that are intangible, ineffable. I'm pro-choice, but that doesn't mean I'm not pro-life. I am pro-life.

One can be both. The problem is that, like our politics, big organizations that feed off of the generated controversy (not to mention money) of the divide make people out to be one or the other. If you're pro-life, you must also believe women are cattle, with no rights, and if you're pro-choice, you must believe that babies are worthless, and that it is a light-hearted, easy, throw away decision to abort fetuses and embryos.

It's never that simple or clear cut.

So you claim that the primary goal of rapists is to spread their seed and father illegitimate rape babies? Seriously?

That's just... you're out of whack, dude.
