Larry Craig to Rand Paul, "You're doing it wrong."

    Oh and...
Ain't sayin it didn't happen, but it will be a day or so before we have some inkling of the truth.

It's interesting how they're treating this. Remember that guy from Las Vegas who asked if he was being detained, and then left?

Yeah, supposedly he committed a felony by leaving after being detained.

So why did they just let Rand go?

flow, I have trouble believing a Senator couldn't have gotten out of the patdown if he'd wanted to. It's a lot easier for me to believe he was trying to prove some kind of point.

Since it doesn't say he backed down and was frisked OR that he went back through the scanners as he requested, I'm left to believe they let him go on his merry way after the cat was let out of the bag, point made and hoping it doesn't get out of hand.

    And, apostle, Hebitisn settlement? What?

    Good for Rand Paul.

I hope he is elected to the presidency in 2016 if the US survives Obama.

    What dynasty is that?

Ron Paul won't get the GOP nomination this year because he won't bend to the party's will. It's probably going to require a default to finally slap the Feds upside of the head with some fiscal common sense.

I have an ominous feeling that if he is re-elected and we get four more years of "this", he and his family are going meet the same fates in a basement like those of Nicholas Romanov, his wife, children, pets, and staff. Might as well hang the flag behind them too.

Clearly we're not -- look at these political dynasties:
John Adams - John Quincy Adams
Grover Cleveland - Grover Cleveland (hehe)
    Theodore Roosevelt - Franklin Roosevelt
George HW Bush - George W Bush
And nearly Bill Clinton - Hillary Clinton

    Also, consider this one:
    Theodore Roosevelt - William Taft
Roosevelt had groomed Taft to be his successor, to which Taft turned around and ran things to the point where Roosevelt was upset enough to run as the Progressive candidate and forced the election to Woodrow Wilson.

Could be worth noting that Ron Paul grooming someone to be his successor could backfire in a similar manner, though it'd be unlikely Paul nor his handpicked successor would see their name plate on Oval Office desk.

Heavy bromance from our other amoral and shitty posters.

He's trying so hard. WF is Chester's last hope to find any measure of acceptance whatsoever in this world.

Quite often, actually, it's just that your perspective is so extreme and skewed, that you can't see it as anything other than something you absolutely must hate. I swear, if you, and posters like you, didn't have someone to hate and "fight the good fight" against, to rile your righteous indignation every day, you'd shrivel up and die. You're a drama queen, and you feed on controversy and contempt.

That's what I wanted to know. The very first thing I thought of was Article I, Section 6.

There was a big blowup in Montgomery many years ago. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office pulled a guy over for DUI. Turned out to be a State Senator who was, honestly, on his way to Session. They had to let him go... :marathon:

And another layer of civil service bureaucracy (unionized, of course) to administer and enforce this tax.

I heard he was heading towards a pro-life rally.
If so, the irony of him blubbering about his personal bodily space being invaded by the state is priceless.
