    That rear engined Mini might be a little slow coming off the line but once it gets up to speed I wouldn't stand in front of it!

    Historically, Minis aren't fast so much as their tiny size and wide stance gave them a huge advantage in rallies (especially those with tons of corners that other cars would need to slow down for).

    Today's MINIs are fast but in a straight away shootout, even entry level Mustangs could beat out the Cooper S.

    On a somewhat related, and a bit non sequitur tangent, you'd be surprised how well a Crown Vic/Grand Marquis can handle.
