Oh look, garamet learned something new, and now thinks it's something to badger gun owners about, as if Shoes was the only guy to do this. I remember the first time I heard of keeping digital records of your firearms, one of my old redneck friends said "I got me one a them ceedee roms, and put pictures of my guns on it, put it in a drawer just in case". Pretty good idea I thought, that was like ten or twelve years ago. Nice to see garamet finally catch up.
Aw, is him feeling picked on? What garamet is doing is pointed out that this is not general knowledge in the non-gun-owning community, and that if you guys don't all want to come across as incendiary loudmouths, it might be good to make this knowledge more available. But you go right ahead and feel all sensitive instead.
I'll make this more simple. Show of hands: Gunforge, who here doesn't have a list containing information about the firearms you own? >EDIT< to correct my dumbassery
Picked on? No. Continually surprised about your ignorance and assumptions about gun owners? Well, no, I stopped being surprised a long time ago. For someone who passes judgement with such gusto, it would help if you knew what you were talking about, tell your hospice to take you to the range sometime. Nice third person self reference BTW, says a lot.
Gun owners IRL? No. Gun owners on WF? All I have to go on is what you guys tell me. And as I keep pointing out, there's a spectrum from rational to insane, with more and more of you tilting toward insane. Which is why Shoes' posts, for example, are so helpful and appreciated. It does say a lot...about those of you who talk past me as if I'm not here. That's characteristic of apostle and Zombie, not usually for you. I'll point it out every time you do it.
Because some people continue to act as though gun owners share some collective guilt for random horrible tragedies? Golly, what could shorten our patience? Here's a pro tip, say exactly that! (And you may have, I don't read all of your posts) Instead, you appear to scurry from thread to thread, now asking gun owners if they're living up to your standards, standards you just set upon reading Shoes post.
Then direct your anger at them, not at me. My goal is to ascertain what you perceive as your responsibility. If you equate that with an accusation, then you're venturing into territory.
Started what? Hurting your feelings. Well, yeah, obviously. In general, yeah. You're a standup guy on all counts, in my observation. But no member of Gunforge should pretend to be something they're not.
I love USAA. I went to up my firearms coverage and they asked for serial numbers and descriptions. "I don't give those out, sorry." "Not a problem Sgt. Johnson, we've got your supplemental firearms coverage moved to 10 thousand dollars, is there anything else we can do for you today?" They ask every time, but take it in stride when I refuse to give it to them.
Oh, and in a rational universe I don't have 10k in firearms, its just that if I had to go out and replace them in today's market it just might cost that much.
