Yes they are. (well...not anymore I guess)

    - We asked them for help...not the other way around.
    - We've lost 4 people in Syria...they've lost over 11000...helping us.
    - The money we spend in Syria is insignificant compared to Afghanistan or Iraq.

What actions of their past? Saladin kicking the Crusaders out of the Levant?

Again, they've already won, they are handling the ISIS problem for us, and they are helping us.

here's something I noticed googling images of Kurds: many have kinda dark complexions.....almost bordering on "brown" to be honest. Why does Tererun want the brown people to get massacred? Asking for a friend!

Something else you'll notice, they wear American flags on their uniforms, but they're not our allies, nope, not one bit.

frankly I give my longbow one last loving gaze every night just before I go to bed. Okay and in the morning too before I go off the work. Sometimes I'll pick it up and hold it for a few seconds (unstrung of course) in the morning just admiring the awesome classic design and craftsmanship that goes into that bow, then I set it back down gently in it's resting spot until I get home, string it up & shoot it.

If Trump loses military support, he loses the election. That is if he isn't impeached by then.

A lot of his base is military, ex-military or have family in the military. Technically, I'm part of his base. He was never going to get my vote, but I'm a supporter of the military. This was just wrong. It shows that he doesn't really give a fuck about them. I could at least say W gave a fuck about the troops. I could say that about all presidents in my lifetime, but not Trump and that disgusts me.

That is a bit weak considering they would have been on the receiving end of the ISIS fight anyway. These different groups fight each other. We asked them to join us in the fight against ISIS, but they did not really have much of a choice in the fight. The fight was coming for them if they helped us or not. Let us not play pretend that they got into the fight with ISIS because they wanted to help the US. That is just a bold faced lie.

ISIS was coming and was going to slaughter them like every other alternate faction.

They are all fighting each other over differences in old battles, allies, and their religious and political differences. The Kurds are not some special race of people put in the area. They have history, and disagree with other factions.

Does not seem like they won to me. Seems more like they beat back one faction only to be in danger of another. Oh, and they did not protect shit for the US. We are still here. We would still be here if ISIS won. The best they can do over here is radicalize someone to make an incident. It is not an invasion, and it is not even the biggest threat in my day. I am much more likely to be killed by some WASP terrorist because our president put them up to it than any middle eastern terrorist. They can't land on our shores in numbers that are an invasion.

This is fearmongering, warmongering bullshit. Why the fuck are we worried about the kurds in syria when we let russia take crimea from the ukraine and become much more of a threat to some real allies in europe. I guess europe is not the real allies the kurds are, and russia certainly is not the threat ISIS is.

    Give me a fucking break.

So he does not want to send US troops into battle and death for the kurds, and you got that he hates our troops from that? I agree he has no respect for our troops, and this is all economical. If he got enough money he would kill US troops by the thousands, but taking the troops out of harms way is not an action that says I hate you.

Little Bush gave so much of a fuck about our troops he sent them into battle against Iraq without reason, and without proper armor and equipment. I remember parents were buying body armor online for their military kids so they would have some.

I agree with you that none of this is done because bone spurs cares for the troops, but what you said is the exact opposite of caring for the troops.

I'm still taken aback by Kurds in Nashville! Somalis in Minnesota too.....what a country! That said how long until we get a Kurd country singer because of their association with Nashville?
BTW this whole potential debacle might cause yet another refugee crisis. Sorry Kurds....you want to haul ass to the US you have to go to Mexico and sneak across the border like everyone else does!

At this point it's pretty clear that you have no idea what's been going on in Syria and you're just making stuff up.

I am talking about a bigger picture and not just the local one. It is not just what is goung on in syria either. It is what is going on across the region which has a number of different influences.

You are talking about one particular factional front. There is a little more nuance and history to this conflict. ISIS is a new group composed of old tribes.

This is why the US intervention over there is FUCKED. If trump, the dumbest world leader ever, can see no profit and lots of waste of being in this shit why can't you? No one has given us the job of lifesavers. We are not the middle east police. Even if we were, they don't want us to be. They want to sort things out for themselves within their culture. We are the intruders. Sure, they might want to bring their big friends along for protection, but they do not want us making rules for them. That means we take a lot of hits for nothing.

Back off. Let them fight. People are dying, but they will make more. We might need to step in for a few reasons, but we are not stopping the fight without putting ourselves in between the fighters and taking blows. We are not their rulers, and we cannot do diplomacy and evolution with these groups until they figure things out for themselves

This is what that prime directive is all about and the non interference idealism of gene roddenberry. In case you did not notice a lot of his Star Trek influence talked about the different levels of evolution a culture has and how it would be harmful to give cultures at lower points larger powers. Though the shows really were nice and bright, they let a lot of people die until they could figure shit out. There is a reason for that. Because to get involved is to get involved.

I am not saying do nothing. I would actually start opening the doors to immigrants with the idea of welcoming their culture into ours. I would turn our backs on the fighting and say have at it with conventional weapons while trying to bring people into the global world and having a place for their culture. We are america. It is hard and out of our range to fix the problems over there. However, we can offer up a free place for muslims to be over here.

No you weren't. We were specifically talking about the particular local one in Syria. Fuck the Syrian Kurds because they deserve it and all that. And then you turn around and suggest that we invite those self same fuckheads who you think deserve to be annihilated to immigrate here?

    The Prime Directive?

    Evolution?

    Figure things out for themselves?

Slow down there tiger and reflect on the fact that we are talking about a part of the world that not too long ago (in historical terms) was amongst the most advanced and sophisticated nations on the planet. It was centuries of western interference which led to the current situation, we can't just wash our hands of that responsibility and point to the natives in disdain.
