This would be true if this were about politics or that sort of behaviour. But it's not. I don't talk about any of these things but here I am in this thread being threatened with action by your co-owner. Plus Dinner is still here so your claims about not wanting racism don't hold water. There's also no reason you could've have updated the rules, given these people a chance to comply and avoided this whole clusterfuck.

This has never been about politics, only ever personalities. And I am sick and tired of hearing the new member drum beaten over and over. But I have you to hear one credible explanation about where these new members are coming from and why a board with a 14 year long community and ageing population will have people beating down the door to beat. If you have some grand and realistic idea that would get a lot of new members then I would support it. But you don't. The problem is that in your quest to mold WF into your own image, you've all forgotten what it was meant to be in the first place. Yes I want new members. But like I said above, I see no credible plan for it....and I see rules ignored and inconsistency practised, all in favour of personality based actions. You forget that part of what I do for a living involves going out and getting clients. You don't sit around hoping they might knock on the door. You have to know what you offer, who to target and where in the market to get your name. For that you need to have a plan and you need to have an appealing product. I see no such plan here. All I see here is the rules being ignored (which sets a bad impression for new members btw) and people undermined in an effort to change the place into something that matches an echo chamber based on American liberal philosophy.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's telling the truth given that I am being threatened and others have just been banned. It's like the Night of the Long Knives in here.

Let me tell you who Gul really is - he's a shlumpy suburbanite dad in his late 40's, sitting on the toilet with his laptop, looking down and wondering how long it's been since he's been able to see his dick because of that pizza & beer gut he's been accumulating the past 10 years. He's bored with his marriage, uninterested in his kids. Job is unfulfilling drudgery. His one or two friends allow him to tag along to ball games because they feel sorry for him.

But sitting there on that toilet, peeing like a girl, you can bet he had the biggest hard-on he's had in the past 5 years while typing that threat to you.

Ha ha. The description is perhaps a little unfair but it did give me a giggle.

First off allowing someone to access your account and then use that information to make a public case for them after their banning is normally permaban territory on every board I have been on. Just giving another user your password and getting caught is normally good enough to get you a permanent boot anywhere I have been. That is why when gturner asked me to confirm it on his account I told him to fuck off because I thought it was a lame way to get me banned for hacking.

It also looks fake because if he were actually banned he would not be able to log in. I am aware some software allows you access to log in to send pms to mods in order to make your case or even to say goodbye, but he was still posting. He did not say he was banned from the violent room, he said he was banned and he was still active so he was lying. That made me very suspicious of his motives and because of that I was not even going to pm on his behalf. If it was another person I would have assumed a pebcak problem and sent a pm on his behalf.

What is t his buffoonery of logging into turners account? If I got anyone's password for their account I would pm them and a mod so they could get it locked immediately. I understand he gave you permission because he is a Fucking dufus, but the people who logged in to confirm had no business taking advantage of his stupidity. As a decent person you take his word and refer his problem to the help desk and get him help. You do not log on his account because it opens up a world of information about him that is only going to be problematic, and it won't help solve the problem. Yes, I have logged into other people's computers and accounts to fix problems, but I eliminated external reasons first and had to do it. In this case logging onto his account confirms nothing that cannot be done by administrators, and it does not fix problems that come from his device. On top of that it might compromise his account and spread something from your device through his.account.

I am sorry to all of his defenders, but permabans are the traditional punishment for all involved in the dumbfuckery. As for the mods trying to keep users there would have been more than gturner permabanned on any other board I have ever been on for this sort of thing.

The fact you are still here to say that shows the mods are not on a tirade. I am saying this from experience. You are on other message boards so you might want to ask their moderators what the normal punishment is for being caught logging into another users account. I am not saying the mods here should do that, but that is a huge no no in the world.
