can't believe we're 125 posts in and none of y'all have pointed out how O'Reilly and FNC ripped on Obama for sullying the White House and the dignity of the office by receiving a visit from Common. Slipping...
You know, the issue isn't that Kanye is a spastic nutcase. The issue is that ANY black man who met with Trump and expressed support for him was guaranteed to receive the exact same bullshit Uncle Tom/House Negro/"minstrel show" criticism from the lamestream media pundit class. When homosexual Don Lemon says that Kanye disgraced "black America," he provides proof positive of what happens when black people dare to escape the liberal plantation. Lemon and the rest of the screeching lamestream media talking heads were the actual fools showing their true racist colors the past couple of days.
Steve Harvey met with Trump shortly after his victory. There were a few eyebrows raised, but he still gets a lot of support from the black community. I also predict that Kanye’s next album will be another overwhelming success and get a lot of love in the black community. Anyone who genuinely cares about Kanye, like me, should be overwhelmingly be concerned with his behavior regardless of his politics.
But Steve Harvey is likable and all his shows are just him reacting like a character from an old sitcom.
I imagine the "CNN called him a token negro!" meme is supposed to make us think white liberals are all secretly racists who hate it when black people stray from "the plantation," but who are the people who actually said that phrase on the air? Here's the answer: Bakari Sellers, an African-American politician, and Tara Setmayer, an African-American commentator who used to be the communications director for the House Republican caucus.
I did not notice any change in kanye over his past, just like trump is not very different from the early 90s. I think this is pretty much how they are. Reality TV and entertainment are probably the best place for them.
I think Kanye's ego may have gotten the better of him in this instance. I think Kanye is not understanding trump is not a joke in his racism. Trump does open up to the black community to use them. I think kanye actually sees an opportunity to reach out. In kanye's defense I think he can survive any negative damage that could happen from extending a hand in trust to trump. If it was not that trump and the alt right have so often used such things to advance damaging ideas I would say that is great. But it is sort of like a guy handling snakes in protective gloves telling people to go in with their bare hands. I also think it is a bit of kanye trying to be a hero and take his own hero's journey and be a guiding voice. I think Kanye gets really excited about ideas, and that is not bad. I think there is a certain amount of troll marketing going on. You have to stay in the picture as a person in his fame situation. I don't truly see this as terrible, just really misguided. I think trump will just use Kanye like he has with others. I think Kanye is more genuine in his desire to see unity, but I think his motivations are more muddied with greed, ignorance, and pride.
Kanye may be a genius, but I think he suffers from some behavioral issues that go back to how he was raised. He seems to have been in an environment of entitlement while also in an environment that encourages loud and obnoxious behavior. His family seems to be upper class black american from the era of my kid is special, that was the overall theme for parents in his day, and he also would have had the cultural loudness of black people in the US. To anyone who is going to get on me, loud and obnoxious is a cultural trait of the american black community. Kanye has probably seen a lot of success in being black and outspoken. However, outside of his bubble that attitude would would most likely have gotten him in trouble fast. Had he been in schools with black kids instead of studying abroad he would not have had the same success as he has had. In a way that is sort of awesome in that it puts a black person right in the powerful influential area who is smart enough to play the game with the people around him. The more I hear kanye speak the more I think he does try to say things that would lead towards a certain way of thinking. He just surrounds himself with so many yes men and idiots that he is probably drowning in a festering bubble of his own intellectual bullshit. He may not be able to see the reality of the situation anymore.
I can't stand him on Family Feud - he spends too much time yacking & bullshitting. Then again he's not smug & pretentious like Alex Trebeck on Jeopardy.
"To anyone who is going to get on me, loud and obnoxious is a cultural trait of the american black community" - Tererun Really? I have never noticed that - thanks for pointing that out.
I love him on family feud. His facial expressions are just awesome. There is some hokey shit, but when he starts ripping on the contestants it is fun.
So Donnie's chillin' with Kanye and the bromance with Vladi is over: Trump to Pull US Out of Nuke Pact With Russia
"OLDFELLA CLAIMS TRUMP IS A MEMBER OF THE LIBERAL COLLECTIVE! - film at 11." So this is "fake news"? Someone else claiming to be Trump hacked his account and posted this? What's your thesis? And the larger picture - THAT YOUR BOY REAGAN CUT A DEAL WITH RUSSIA THAT YOUR BOY DONNIE IS PUTTING IN THE SHREDDER - is of no interest to you or your grandkids or future generations? Please do share your "thinking" on this topic.
I haven't eaten potted meat since I was a teenager when I actually read the list of ingredients. That said, deviled spam and Underwood's deviled ham are a wonderful alternative with a small pack of saltine crackers.
It's still no The Price is Right, which was the absolute highlight of the day when you were staying home sick from school as a kid. "Remember, spay and neuter your pets..."
Not nearly so as tossing off a glib two word response and getting to feel clever about it. For the record, I would never say "celebrities should stay out of politics." They have the same rights as anybody else. Nor does celebrity status give one's opinions and arguments any extra weight. They have to stand up, or not, on their own merits.
There are areas celebrities have insight into and there are educated celebrities. Like any opinion you have to evaluate the source along with whether or not it is corroborated and research the facts. celebrity can point you in a direction, but you have to learn. Sometimes what you may learn might be people are full of shit. Like when flat earth celebrities start talking. or when people start denouncing climate change.
1. Where ya been? 2. It's been common knowledge for years that Kanye struggles with mental illness, and that it got much worse after his mother died. He's a musician genius, but he also blurts out all sorts of random and stupid shit all the time. 3. It's also been common knowledge for years that Taylor Swift carefully cultivates her public persona down to the last detail. Nothing she says or does or wears is by accident, it's all calculated. 4. Kanye is the guy that blurted out "George W. Bush doesn't care about black people" on live television, but can't explain why he thinks Trump cares any more than Bush did. 5. Swift explained exactly why she's taking a side now. 6. Who here called Kanye a house negro?
