A better comparison would have been Palpatine, but it's still a fallacious comparison because Palpatine's a fictional character; furthermore, Palpatine had no Hitler or Trumpesque characteristics that made everyone overlook him during his rise to Supreme Chancellor. Aside for possibly some Roman emperors, Hitler is the closest point of comparison we have to Trump's campaign. And the similarities are enough that even the anti-Hillary crowd should take pause and notice.
