The must've cured homosexuality in between Discovery and the other series. Perhaps this show will illustrate why they did.
Wrong font. And not to bash on the design to much, but there are some fan interpretations out there that I think were better.
No-kindle-problem---amy-cant-fix-it-either. Why? I enjoy some tv series with gay characters such as "Major Crimes".
Why? Because you think homosexuals are disgusting and that women and minorities should not lead a Star Trek series. This comment suggests the show will be the exact opposite of the white American male dominated show that you have repeatedly advocated. Frankly I'm delighted. Roddenberry's starship earth lives on, as it always should in Trek, especially as our planet becomes more globalised and smaller. Plus, I'd say that with the many ills of the current day, this is a time more than ever that the inclusive nature of Trek needs to be out there stimulating minds and promoting an uplifting vision of the future.
I like the ship a lot from some angles, don't like the full frontal angle as much but I don't know how you'd keep the look of the other elevations and change it much. I'd, of course, loved to have seen a ship more in keeping with the curves of many existing designs, but I don't hate this by any means because it's not supposed to be a variant of the Enterprise. Still say it has a military look
1. The whole design looks quite aggressive. From the ship to the font uses in the title. Hm. 2. Ceterum censeo region restrictions esse delendam. Guys this is getting ridiculous. Last night I could at least watch that mini-video on CBS while it was already pulled from YT. Today I'm already living on the wrong side of the border. I mean really. WTF could possibly be lost in terms of money when people watch this globally. For that alone I'm gonna the shit out of this show.
Honestly it sounds like an educational computer program aimed at fourth graders. In which the crew sets out on an exciting trek to discover that Saturn has rings! and There are lots of stars in the Milky Way! and The universe is billions of years old! I like that it's drawing on the exploration aspect of the show, the particular phrase just doesn't scan well for me at first glance.
Meh, Voyager wasn't that great a title at first, and evoked nothing for me but the probe. Course, there turned out to be other um....flaws to that show, that title concerns fell by the wayside.
So, it's STD. Catchy. I'm itching to see it... Oh, I do so hope the captain has aides, and we have an episode where the ship is infested with crab creatures! Ship is fugly, looks too much like one of the k'tinga class Klingon ships, but as long as the plots are good the ship could look like a tin of tuna with lolly sticks blu-tacked to the sides for all I care.
While I would prefer a Trek series reflect my values and beliefs I'm practical, not doctrinair about it. I liked MASH (still do) though I never cared for all the antiwar BS.
Apparently the show runners say that the ship design isn't yet finalized. The whole teaser looks like it was inspired by the Planet of the Titans concept art, except instead of arriving at the asteroid space dock, the ship is leaving it.
And the study model made of that ship appeared in the wrecked fleet at Wolf 359 as well as in the STIII spacedock.
Just think, you can take battle footage of this ship and edit it into the Battle of Wolf 359 from “The Best of Both Worlds II” and it would be very appropriate.
Can't say much based on what we've other than a rough time-setting and the general aesthetic. Regarding the latter it looks fairly "gritty" to me.
So the show will only be available in the USA on the CBS special access channel? Because I've read that for international markets the show will be available on Netflix. So stupid. They are pretty much asking to have the show bootlegged.
They're following the UPN model. When they launched the network, Voyager was one of the first shows because they knew it'd draw viewers. Their hope is that enough people will be excited to see new Trek that they'll subscribe to the service.
