Nothing to do with Trek varying its style (which it actually has done, *cough*AbramsTrek*cough*), it's more to do with the overused Rick+Morty style, which to me looks cheap and sloppy. Same reason I intensely dislike Teen Titans Go.

All Treks have things that date them, and make them a time capsule of the decade they come from.
    I kinda find that fun.
Like disco Bones, and punk hairdos on the girls in early TNG, and hair-metal mullet on the Klingon captain in TFF.
Rick & Morty animation will just make you go "that's so 20's", in the 40's.

What? I plan on still being around in the 40s. Hopefully we can skip the "Word War" bit this time around, tho.

The blast shield girl is a spaz and probably not mature enough to be in Starfleet. I mean she makes fun of the guy who is actually serious about command that is practicing a Captain’s log. I don’t see blast shield girl getting too far with that type of personality. Also, Starfleet changed uniforms a few times post Nemesis-Picard.

They've said that's going to be their arc.
Boimler (log guy) will teach Mariner (shield girl) to be more serious, and she'll teach him to pull the stick out of his butt.
Kinda like how Spock was logic, McCoy was emotion, and they always had a tug of war.

Honestly, that makes a far more valuable contribution to Trek canon than anything in Voyager :ramen:

Is that the game where you can't really engage in space battles, you can just be a crew person manning a console during a battle? Because that would suck. I mean, if you can do the whole space battles thing yourself, then I'd say use that bitch as target practice!

No, you totally engage in space battles, and in-person battles with an away team. It's great.

    And Xbox...

I played it for a while on PC, then got bored of it, it was basically the same thing over and over. Warp here, space battle, beam down, find shit, shoot the enemy, beam up and start the same thing over again. Different places, different shit to find, but still was repetitive as hell.

Since quarantine started I've found most games are like that to some extent. Still, it's well worth the (free) price, and Trek actor cameos and additions to the overall mythology are fun. :clyde:

I do enjoy the cameos, and I did get my character set up pretty good on the PC version. I had several ships, 10 or 12, a good crew, my latest kicked serious ass as well. But the repetitive nature got to me.

Who is this show geared towards anyways? 13 year olds with attention deficit disorder?

It looks like a cartoon show. :clyde:

That scene would fit perfectly in a show like Futurama. Not saying it will be a great show like that, but it seems like many were expecting animated TNG when that was clearly never what this was meant to be.

Re-watch episode 1 of Futurama, and tell me with the straight face you see a future masterpiece there.

Jesus Christ, I hopped onto YouTube earlier to show someone that sneak leak from the pilot, and the number of stupid videos bitching about the show is already ridiculous.

There's been a two minute scene released, and a similarly short trailer, and people are posting 10, 12, 27 minute videos about how it's a disaster, it's a complete failure, the franchise is dead...

It's faux outrage clickbait garbage. :jayzus:

I’ve purposely avoided those videos because I’m tired of the accusations that I can’t think for myself or that I’m letting people think for me. I plan to watch the show and use my own judgment. You probably don’t believe me, that’s fine, but it’s true.
