No. Q has to be surprised because of what he told Picard in the very last episode. So for a second he thinks Picard "evolved" and Q is having an "oh shit" moment.
Which to me has got to be the most "loser pet" anyone can have. Unless you're one of those who expects no affection from a pet anyway and just likes to feel good watching them.
I always felt sorry for that fish being in such a teensy tank. In my head-canon, that bubble was but one protuberance of a network of water tunnels throughout the ship, and he visited every deck.
I'm amazed the fish ever survived a red alert where the ship was getting it's butt kicked. Imagine being tossed around in the tank with no way to brace yourself when the ship got hit by enemy fire. I bet the fish was holographic.
The blueprints for the ship have large marine tanks. Maybe the fish did have access to it using a fish turbolift.
Shit, that's right! They never visited the navigation dolphins! I think one of the novels used them, but that was it.
Cool I just found this website: http://forgottentrek.com/the-unseen-enterprise-d/ They show parts of the ship we never saw in the show. Who knew there was a Two Forward? I'm going to have to break out the old blueprints and look for it.
CBS was dumb to force Stage 9 to shit down their project, but you can find videos of people roaming those parts of the ship.
Two Forward was for the lower decks people the officers didn't want to be seen with. Like the toilet maintenance guys. And the holodeck mop boy. And the poor mutated bastards with a cubicle inside each of the ramscoops.
In regards to the deck plans and sets on TNG I've never understood why they make such a big deal about having so many "lounges" on the ship (seemingly). It isn't like they ever do anything "fun" there aside from drinking and a couple of board games (3D Chess & Terraces). The message to me for having so many lounges is that the producers consider space exploration fundamentally boring. Though in regards to the sets its probably simply needing a roomy set (where cameras and equipment can be maneuvered) for informal conservations between cast members. Though don't know why they can't have those conversations on existing sets like the bridge, engineering or sickbay.
For those of you wanting to be particularly anal about the series, I'm going to offer you a bit of trivia. At present, the world's oldest grapevine is 500 years old. It's also in Slovenia, not France. So, if Picard's vineyard has vines older than 800 years old, the writers have fucked up.
Patrick Stewart has a pit bull with clipped ears and a similar coat. Wonder if they gave her the role of Picard's dog?
Levar Burton reveals how they could get him to do a guest spot on the series. https://comicbook.com/startrek/2019/07/13/star-trek-the-next-generation-levar-burton-geordi-sex/
that's actually the one thing that's really throwing me with the poster... ear clipping and tail docking is pretty much going the route of declawing cats.. cruel and unnecessary. seems wrong visually here.
In Star Trek lore such a thing is highly illegal. Especially on Earth of all places. I'm betting that no one bothered to realize what was done to the dog. I've heard Patrick Stewart is a big dog person so I can't see him approving of such a dog unless he didn't know.
It's going to suck because Patrick Stewart is involved behind the scenes. Everything he's involved with behind the scenes for writing sucks. He should stick to acting.
Dog breeding is full of corrupt shit. Corgis for showing were always docked. Now it's illegal, they breed for a shorter tailbone but you still get vestigial stumps, so some vet nurses will invent a medical exemption for the dog for cash-in-hand, allowing it to be docked on health grounds.
Per twitter, it was a foster that he doesn't have any more. It came to him with docked ears and tail. Apparently, he's made friends with the new owners and they bring the dog around when they visit Stewart and his wife. Has no one noticed that the close up that @shootER posted of the collar lacks the star within the delta and instead says "no. 1"
I noticed it when looking at Starfleet insignias, I was going to try and find one that didn't have anything etched or cut into it, then forgot.
