I'm guessing there's a Klingon Sinead O'Conner, and their society treats her exactly how you'd expect.
The Klingon Drinking Song is about Kahless and it can be used in many circumstances - in Star Trek Online there are a couple of occasions where Klingons sing it when going to their deaths, so Worf and his Dad's old buddy singing it over bloodwine might just be the Klingon equivalent of drunken Brits singing Swing Low, Sweet Chariot or somesuch.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Boss on {Spoiler}’s Season 2 Finale Debut: ‘We’ve Been Talking About Him for a While’ We'll be seeing more TOS characters in the future, it seems.
If we see Bones will Kirk meet him for the first time like he did Spock or will they already be established as friends?
TIL that Anson Mount recorded the iconic "Space: The Final Frontier" opening monologue in his basement at the exact same moment William Shatner was aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard spacecraft. (Point of order: Saying that Shatner was "in orbit" is incorrect, as New Shepard cannot achieve orbit.)
Is anyone watching SNW on CBS? The first 2 episodes aired last night. I watched them again because I want to support the show in case Paramount is thinking of giving it a broader release…. I don’t care what anyone says… S1 was head and shoulders above S2 IMHO.
Damn, I was replaying Halo: MCC recently and just noticed that Ethan Peck (NuNuSpock) played Spartan Gabriel Thorne in the Spartan Ops cinematic storyline (the gameplay segments don't focus on him or his team - Fireteam Majestic - but their rivals, Fireteam Crimson). Even here, he was showing a lot of Spock-like traits (largely stoic, nice guy, level-headed but with some clear emotion at times).
well, they did kill their gods. and her whole reveal on the "laundry" girls thing was a torch bearer level thing. I think the Klingons woulda done her better.
Saw a clickbait article the other day about how David Tennant craves a chance to be on SNW and I've been amusing myself trying to brainstorm how you could maximize his talents in a guest role, preferably without heavy alien makeup. The most obvious thing is a Q-like being but obviously that's been done. Just another starfleet member seems a waste. Likewise, a rogue like Harry Mudd has been done repeatedly. A time traveler of some sort is too on-the-nose. Best working theory I've got right now is someone like an archeologist (or an Indiana Jones type "I might just keep this for the museum" treasure hunter, but again - Vash) or xenobiologist or something that makes a dangerous discovery. Feels like there must be a better idea I'm not having.
If you can't figure out how to have him in an episode where he's vaguely the Doctor, and Crowley, the same way that Eureka could do a Christmas episode with a character who was clearly Santa Claus without ever calling him that, you need to rethink your life as a writer. Throw Michael Sheen in as a cross between Aziraphale and Zuse and you've got yourself the ultimate crossover without having to pay royalties to any other franchise.
John Billingsley says he wants to be on SNW as either old-Phlox or an identical Phlox Junior. Before you poo-poo it as actor fantasizing, remember, Rebecca Romijn, Jerry O'Connell, and fan willpower made the Lower Decks crossover happen. https://trekmovie.com/2023/12/28/jo...for-dr-phlox-on-star-trek-strange-new-worlds/
I'm poo pooing it because Phlox is a shite character. I was hoping he died in some horrible violent accident shortly after the events of "These Are The... GO FUCK YOURSELF ENTERPRISE FANS" final episode.
