I do agree that they need to do something big. But it's a fair point that they may be too risk averse - TFA was conservative, if nothing else.
The general feeling is that TFA was uber safe to get over the prequel revulsion. I'd like to think there's no reason they can't now take more risks.
I hope that's wrong, it sounds horrible. The whole Chosen One/Force-Jesus shit needs sweeping under the a handy carpet, the carpet being doused in lighter fuel lit with napalm, the resultant ashes shovelled into a rocket and tossed towards a black hole. I'm fine with the semi-religious aspects - it is fantasy after all - but Space Jesus-Dalai-Lama is just... Blech.
As does the whole, "I don't care if he's responsible for the deaths of billions of people, he's still a good person and if he gives up his evil ways all is forgiven bullshit." Fucking George must have some serious "Daddy Issues."
Prediction- What was so traumatic to SW fandom about the prequels wasn't so much their badness, is that they were going to be the final word for the saga forever. So, now that that's no longer the case, once we've got three good ones, TFA, Rogue One, and Ep8 under our belts, the trauma will be cured, and we'll be more forgiving. And more an more once we add even more.

They lost me with: The second one I could have ignored, but the first one was pretty much a deal killer, and when you add it to the second one, I'm out.
Looks like we can expect to see thhe Knights of Ren in action. Some description and potential spoilers at the link. http://movieweb.com/star-wars-8-knights-of-ren-scene/
I don't watch Game of Thrones, but that was cool. Maybe it's time to start watching. As for the duel of fates, I do hope we get a more powerful sound track for episode 8. Say what you want about the prequels, but the music was great.
