Smoking - anything - makes your gums retract.

Most of the problems of pot>tobacco are associated with the way it is smoked. Many people who smoke pot breathe much deeper, and more smoke is taken into the mouth.
So, as long as you smoke pot like you smoke tobacco you are cutting down on many of the associated risks.

I rarely go to the dentist. It had been over a decade prior to my last visit, and the dentist was pleasantly surprised to report that my teeth were in near-perfect condition. No real plaque to scrape, no cavities.

The only problem he had to report? Mild, early gingival recession. :soma: :calli:
But he blamed it on my use of "firm" toothbrushes and overly-vigorous brushing technique. Didn't say anything about smoking.

    And fuck you, too. :garamet:

It's not the pot that's the problem. It's the stuff that pot smokers eat when they get the munchies that causes dental problems. :soma:

    Crap.:jayzus:

Nobody smokes weed the way people smoke cigs. Meaning nowhere near as much.So far my teeth are still here. No bad reporst from the dentist.

Just another scare tactic to get people not to start.

Do pot smokers ever crave healthy foods like celery or carrot sticks on getting the munchies?

The munchies is more a thing that early smokers get. I been smoking for years, I don't get the 'munchies' like I did when I was younger and it was the early years of my indulgence.

Increased appetite is one of the reasons that some use pot. It also eases the effects of chemotherapy.

Ideally, I'd get a non-corroding metal coated in some kind of durable ceramic or porcelain, molded as direct replacements for each individual tooth, and have them installed in my gums where my real teeth used to live. I'm not dealing with removable dentures.

No biggie. Most people get implants. Dentures are for when you have NO teeth or the particular dentist is not up on implants and sells you dentures.

    Don't be so sure.

I went and visited my dad last week. He's smoked pot for over 25 years, and he's 45 years old. The man has 5 teeth left, even though he's done a good job trying to take care of them.

Same thing happened to his wife.

I'm older than your dad and smoked longer and I have not had any such problems as the ones ascribed to pot use.

I think its the prison food your dad has to eat thats fucking up his teeth.

If price is no object, by the time your teeth are falling out, the technology should be available to inject stemcell cloned tooth buds into the root bed of your gums.
You'd have to eat applesauce for a couple months, but once they took, bam.

Mewa tries to jam a screwdriver into where he thinks it hurts most.

Don't worry. What you want exists and its not overly expensive. It just cost more than the average stuff.

But if you get them young they will likely need to be replaced in say 25-30 yrs. That's if you don't go trying tricks like Jaws in the Bond movies.

Well, he's not doing a very good job. If you want to hurt me, challenge me as a person, I'm very prideful. Don't go after my dad, because I find him more pathetic than anyone else.
