Yes. Nonsense as shown by Clinton just slaughtering him at the polls.

Bernie failed. He had his chance.

Hey, I said "some of us."

I'll be happy to see him take the campaign all the way to the convention, just to put pressure on Hillary.

If the DNC thinks they can just pick up Bernie supporters and throw them at Hillary in the general, they might be in for a surprise. One thing I've noticed, though, is that Bernie voters are always asked in interviews whether they would vote for Hillary in the general if she's the nominee. I've never heard it asked the other way around. Seems sketchy.

I got his point. He's just wrong. Bernie is nothing but a blip on Hillary's radar.

He could have been much more then that.

    I don't think it's that simple.

    Link

"It began before they even arrived in Milwaukee for the sixth Democratic debate of the primary season: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton slipped out of one coat and into another that looked a little more like Sen. Bernie Sanders while delivering her concession speech in New Hampshire late Tuesday. Clinton continued her change of tune Thursday during the sixth Democratic debate, hosted by PBS'NewsHour, hijacking some of her rivals' euphuisms almost verbatim. In adopting Sanders' talking points, Clinton is making a bold grab at Sanders' less-than-loyal supporters."

Nah, you're wrong. Liars like gturner have been screaming about Clinton's imminent indictment for 25 years. People who have figured out by now that the hyperbole is hyperbole aren't going to not vote for her over one more toss of mud in her direction.

If Sanders had gone full bore on a banking scandal based campaign, he wouldn't have gotten his issues to the forefront. Clinton would have gone nuclear on him, would not have taken up his issues, and would have crushed him even more thoroughly than she did.

So his choice was go after her Republican style, sacrificing his message in order to lose big, or use a softer touch, morphing his issues in to her issues. They are now Democratic party issues. Would that be the case if he hadn't earned a spot at the convention?

Many Sanders supporters say they won't back Hillary because all she does is lie and pander because she's driven by a thirst for power and money.

And yes, she's been facing indictments for 25 years. That's not normal for an American politician. She escaped indictment on cattle futures, billing records, White Water, travelgate, FBI files, looting the White House, and countless other messes of her own creation. This time she has the director of the FBI leading 150 agents in a dig through her illegal dealings. And yes, those dealings were wildly illegal. They're looking to take down not just Hillary, but all her aides and lackies.

Most Americans are familiar with the parable of the boy who cried wolf. The scandal industry ran out of juice a long time ago.

How can Hillary attack Trump? He's bought her many times. She went to his wedding. She tried attacking him on sexism and Bill just about went into hiding after Trump hit back.

The Republican establishment shot themselves in both feet. Bush's advisers told him, without apparently asking any voters what they thought, that Trump would be a flash in the pan and he wasn't worth attacking. Trump hit Jeb! as low-energy, and the attacks were devastating because Jeb's advisers told him not to respond, to "stay above the fray" and look Presidential. Instead he spent his money attacking Cruz and Rubio, perhaps fatally. Yes, the establishment candidate spent $150 million wrecking any chance the establishment had - and then ran home.

Meanwhile Mitt Romney is set to address the chaos on Thursday. If his prior comments are any indication, he'll lecture the establishment that they've been ignoring voter's concerns. From the Washington Post

In what could be seen as a foreshadowing of his Thursday remarks, Romney outlined his views on the 2016 race in an appearance last month at Babson College in Massachusetts. Speaking to students, Romney said he shared the feeling of many Americans that Washington has failed them and urged national leaders to tackle big problems such as climate change, poverty, education and income inequality.

The LOSER is still trying to be more Obama than Obama, and he wonders why Republicans didn't show up to vote for him? He's more out-of-touch with Republican voters than the average Alzheimer's patient. The voters are worried about illegal immigration, the lack of a Wall, Syrian refugees who work for ISIS, the collapse of the Middle East and Europe, China's expansion, and the economy, the economy, the debt, and the economy. Romney is the face of failure.

Hillary's defenders are like the Mexicans who cheer each time the Mexican government botches a raid on El Chapo. Somehow they think that the fact that he keeps escaping their grasp is proof that he's innocent. Well now he's in jail, where Hillary should be.

He was the last to find out. Thank god he sent out an e-mail. Can you imagine sitting through his drop-out speech?

Reporter: "Are you dropping out of the race?"
Carson: "Well,........ you see,............ I've been in this race a long time,......... and I've come to feel that...."

    *30 minutes go by*

Carson: "...... so..... you have to ask..... if your patient isn't making the progress you'd like to see......"
Reporter: "Just out with it man!"
Carson: ".... and you have to look at all the factors ..... to make the best decision...."

    *30 minutes go by*

Carson: "Is anyone awake? I'm getting to my point...."

Update: Carson didn't suspend his campaign. He's not that decisive. I listened to part of his press statement and it sounded much like what I wrote up above.

If it comes down to Clinton and Trump, I'm just going to write in "Fuck This Bullshit" for president in November.

I don't know why it still surprises me when presidential candidates suck. Usually, it's a choice between a big, stinky shit log and a slightly less stinky pile of shit that's coiled in a vaguely asteticly pleasing way. This time it would be a pile of deer-pellet constipation shit veruses explosive diarrhea.

Maybe I'll vote for Trump. The country is fucked, has always been fucked, and most likely will continue to be fucked for some time. No president will change that. Trump wouldn't be a good president, but he'd certainly be an entertaining one.

A little off-topic but I love explosive diarrhea! Nothing helps you "make weight" better than quickly & efficiently dumping a couple of pounds of water/poop. It was my "go to" tool on weigh-in day during my military career. :techman: Even today when I don't have to make weight, I prefer explosive diarrhea to straining and grunting trying to squeeze out some deer pellets! :brood: You are on & off the toilet in a couple of short but efficient minutes, with no nagging feeling of leave the job unfinished. I eat mostly protein so it's hard to poop - so to counteract that I've been eating turnip & collard greens - INSANE amounts :unuts: and I've always got my fingers crossed for a goose-bump raising Dumb & Dumber Jeff Daniels style epic bout of pooping.

Dem turn out is down from 2008 but about the same as 2012. The main group which has declined has been black voters so it seems blacks got excited about a hal black candidate but now are returning to their usual poor voter turn out when there isn't a black candidate on the ballot. Breaking the black vote down further it is mostly the older black vote who bothered to show up not the young people.

Cruz would be as big a disaster as president as Trump, just in a somewhat different way. Kasich would be fine but can't win. Rubio wouldn't be great but we could get by with him.

Given a straight up choice between Trump and Cruz, I'd risk Trump.

    Yeah you're a fool then.

One guy who wants to make Washington DC follow the Constitution versus one guy who believes in making yuuuuggggeeee deals and branding everything in his name.

And you'd risk the country on the second guy......

As I keep trying to get across, when both parties utterly fail to provide a reasonable nominee, and a third party DOES provide a reasonable nominee, WHY do people so strongly resist the third option? If you equally despise choices 1 and 2, you have nothing at all to lose by selecting 3.

Even if he can't win - even if you wouldn't really WANT him to win...if you help establish the credibility of a third option going forward then you've served some notice on the Big 2.

If the Libertarians get 15% or more of the vote it changes a ton of things on the political landscape, most notable debate participation. Hell, at LEAST people ought to tell pollsters they intend to vote for Johnson whether they do or not if they hate the idea of picking between Clinton and Trump because if he's poling strong he has a better argument when he sues for debate access.
