So anyone following this rifle? I have been wanting one since I first heard about it a few years ago. It's from the Israelis. It's their homegrown repalcement for the M16/M4 family. However US import laws kept it from coming here. Well looks like that's been taken care of? I will sell all of my ARs and one of the kids to get a few of these, AWB stupidity dependent. The beauty of this is that it is a bullpup. Notice where the magazine inserts. It has a standard 18" barrel, so accuracy is gonna be as good as if not better than an M4, yet look how short the over all length is by moving the magazine well and the bolt carrier group to the stock. Styer must be jealous like no tomorrow
Looks heavy, especially in the ass. If the Israelis like it, it must be good, but the performance of other bullpup designs makes me wary.
I've not shot one, but his comment was that it is rear heavy. I think that may have some validitidy since most of the weight - ammo, action, stock - is located very close to the shoulder, instead of near the middle of the gun as is traditional. I'm not sure how awkward that makes things, but I can see the potential for problems.
Thats MSRP. Question is how much will is retail for? Even at $2k it'll be cheaper than a SCAR or ACR.
According to the wiki page on the weapon, Canadians have an 18.5" barrel version. Nothing for us Americans yet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMI_Tavor_TAR-21#Semi-automatic
My wife chided me for not buying more guns recently. I think she wants me to buy more guns. This one will work nicely.
Off the top of my head: Unbalanced/Awkward for those not used to them. No shooting offhand (look at where the ejection port is located). Spongy trigger (look at where the trigger is and then where the sear is). Although these has been some good work with Bullpups recently. I still want a RFB.
