What an idiot. They rigged that election badly. Saddam could rig a 99% vote for him because he would just kill anyone who complained. This nut should have known better as he doesn't have Saddam's ability to just kill. There is a somewhat functioning Democracy in Iran. It's not as good as it could be but it's there. If the polls would have the two of them running neck and neck and he wanted to rig an election then he should have "won" by the slimmest of margins. Perhaps this obvious rigging is a good thing for the people of Iran. Maybe it will be the start of those nails in the coffin that finally leads to Iran to changing for the better.
Leaked actual election tallies show Ammadinnerplate only got around 20% of the vote. He came in third. Can't steal an election when you get blown out.
This would explain the satellite jamming, and internet and text messaging blocking. If true the regime does not want that information getting out.
Persian hasn't even begun Maybe Persians'll succeed where Chinese failed a score ago <---- Let's hope NOT
Well, glad to see that the people of Iran are doing the proper thing when it comes to theft of power. It's never good to see people getting caught up in violence, but if there ever was a good reason to riot and burn shit down, a stolen election is one of them.
Please show more respect for an elected president of a sovereign nation. It is not appropriate to make fun of Mr. Ah'majihad's name.
WOW! Got a link? I'd really like to read that. Man if that got around the country and no matter how hard they try to shut the media and cell phones off, the word will get around, things will get really bad there.
Only thing I have is this: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2...rted,-Protestors-shot,-the-University-Invaded. All the sources are native to Iran and not in English, so I have nothing directly that any of us could understand.
I caught Christian Amanpour on CNN questioning Amadawhatisis about the riots (she looks lovely in a headscarf thing), and he kept repeating "its no different than your English soccer fans celebrating after a game."
I think you're probably right. If you are going to rig an election, why bother even counting the actual votes? Unless the rigging was a contingency plan when they started counting the votes and discovered Ahmadbsufbunjad was going to get blown out when he was the favored candidate by the religious leaders.
Interesting 'facts' put out by some Iranian political expert on NPR just now: 1) The 05 elections were boycotted by many of the reformist candidates and supporters, with a national turnout of ~66%, these elections had ~85% turnout yet the results are almost identical. 2) Mousavi got only ~28% of the vote in his home town. In contrast Ahmadinijad got over 93% in his home town.
I can understand that, seeing as you don't even care enough about the country you live in to even vote. Issues larger than work-home-bong must be completely over your head.
That's your claim, not mine. But doing nothing and not caring are still better than pretending to do something just so you can act like a condescending fuckbag.
Really? If Ah-ma-long-a ding-dong is ousted, this will helpto resolve a huge problem as far as Iran and Isreal. I don't know much about Mousavi, but he seems to be a lot more Westernized in his ideals. He called holocaust denial appaling, acknoledges Isreal's right to exist and cited tensions with the US as for reasons to get rid of the incumbent. I might be getting ahead of myself, but it looks like the Iranians are ready to move towards more civil relations with us. How can you not give a fuck?
Not at all. For quite some time the majority of Iranians want official relations with the U.S. Iranians has one of the most pro-American populations (excluding Israel) in the M.E. Ironic due to our past, but an Embassy is one of our biggest carrots. Many MANY Iranians, espeically in the upper and middle class have family in the U.S. Right now visas are hard as hell to get, even just to travel and visit.
It's very simple. This has no direct bearing on me, and I feel no need to act like I care about other peoples' business just to impress strangers on the internet with my high-minded, worldly concern for the human condition.
