I read that the tire thing can actually make sense with certain types of weapons.

Apparently some are designed to explode on contact, through some kind of pressure switch in the nose of the missile/kamikaze drone.

A rough surface (like that from stacks of tires) could result in the weapon impacting but not hitting in a way that sets off the explosive.

Not seen it confirmed, but seems to make a sort of sense.

Seems to have worked, given the hole in the middle of one of them.
