It's all about the Benjamins. And her 15 minutes of fame, which she'll try to parlay into a spot on at least one corporate board. :garamet:

If the election had been as close as it was in 2000, it is entirely possible that would have happened. A margin of a few hundred votes, and only one state that needs to be overturned in order to reverse the election, is a vastly different scenario from tens of thousands of votes, in at least three different states, that have to be overturned.

It seems to me that the winner of the 2000 election is more a question of definition than of counting: it depends on what criteria you use to count a vote as valid or not. Under those circumstances, you can hope a favorable SCOTUS will rule the way you want (as it did in 2000). But what Trump and the GOP weren't counting on was an election that wasn't even particularly close. Trump was never ahead in the electoral-vote count, and in the end Biden had a very comfortable win in both popular and electoral votes. That isn't even in the same ballpark as Bush v Gore.

What's always been funny about the 2000 election is that all the drama was in Florida and the cause was a very badly designed ballot. A first-year graphics student could point out the flaws in that "butterfly" design, and what makes it really delicious was that the ballot in question was designed by democrats.

Not just them. Most outlets have it.

NYT was the first place I saw it, in fact.

Considering that one of Trump's latest tweets was OVERTURN! this has the stink of desperation.

I don't recall any chaos the night of the election, nor the days that followed. At least, not in 2020.

I'm not sure what I find more bizarre...the fact that the Republicans are going with "The reason nobody can find all the scads and scads of evidence that the election was stolen is because it's invisible" argument, or the fact that it doesn't surprise me.

In other news, leaked audio of a private Biden meeting reveals him saying...pretty much the same stuff he says in public.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/leaked-recording-biden-says-gop-190813279.html

What I'm wondering is, who is he pushing back at?

Hmm....I don't remember S3 all that well because I only watched it once. But I would say the courts have so far been (rightfully) treating the Trump cause like Kingpin does a Russian with a car door.

No. I like Diacanu’s beat down better. The only problem, what do we use as bait to keep trump from ... well... being trump. I sincerely doubt he cares for Melania the way Kingpin cares for Vanessa.

    Oh, shit!

As of 11:17 AM ET, Trump is ahead in the Electoral College vote!

Clearly, he has won the election. BY A LOT!

Any votes counted hereafter are obviously FRAUD.

Now we just need Michigan and that's pretty much it for the 2020 "swing" states.

But what about the alternate electors?

Stephen "White Supremacist Even Though They Don't Like Jews, Shit I'm A Jew" Miller has a bold (read: batshit) plan to have alternative panels of electors in each state who will send their version of the EC vote to the Hill at the same time as the real EC. This "keeps the challenge open" as the Hill can then choose to accept the alternate EC vote.

Of course, none of the above has any actual legal weight behind it, but I'm sure Castle has latched onto it like a facehugger on John Hurt.

Congress still has to count the electoral votes on Jan6. I don't think they have enough fingers and toes between all of them to pull that off.
