Trump should concede and prepare to leave. However, he's still President until January 20th, 2021 and within his rights to question the accuracy of the vote.

Because it is technically legal for you to do a thing doesn't mean that it's not a wildly dangerous and damaging thing to do.
Everyone saying "he's within his rights" instead of saying "he should shut the fuck up" is accessory to that damage.

And the difference between these two lies is that the one in your example doesn't involve slander or libel. What Trump's doing is yet another crime.

Technically, libel isn't a "crime" but something that could generate a lawsuit.

That raises an interesing question: Could/should Biden sue these various people for libel? They are saying indirectly that he or people on his behalf cheated and rigged the system so he would win. These are demonstrably false statements that meet the standard for actual malice. The potential personal damages are great. But it also seems like something courts would steer clear from, and it implicates 1st Amendment protections for political speech. It would be interesting to have Trump sit for a deposition in the hands of a good lawyer and use all these many, many statements against him.

There are videos out there of him testifying on tape. They are quite amusing in a schaudenfreude kind of way. Of course, in a deposition it might be even worse for him, since (if I recall correctly) depositions are often taken without a judge present.
