I was on a conservative board earlier and they are totally up in arms about the 13 “traitors.” Of course, when I brought up that many of the funds would go to Republican states it was all crickets.

Not for nothing, but this is the house that voted. Why is that such a big thing? getting 13 people to pass something through the senate would be OMG huge and certainly deserve praise. Getting 13 reps in the house to undermine the second bill by handing the ball to the republicans is not a huge deal. It was just fucking anyone who wanted something more. No great thing was accomplished, and by siding with the dems they really took away any leverage the progressives had to get the second bill passed. This is really what the corporates wanted. They wanted their republican controlled gift bill passed while getting rid of anything that could help the people.

This was a bipartisan backstab to the people, and not some great moment where the right and left joined to make things better for us.

Kill two birds with one stone. It was originally a military project, just call it that and Republicans will support it. For the white nationalists in the party, it was based off the Nazi Germany system.

Actually, Ike was pushing for the interstate highway system back in the late teens/early twenties.

That's $296.5 billion. Good stuff, but not if the rest is just so people can keep driving too much.

Despite McCarthy talking absolute nonsense for over 8 hours (I'm amazed he only had that much in the tank), the House has passed the BBB bill (or the BBBB) or B5 if you want to stick "Biden" on the front of it.

Related not only to supply-chain problems, but also the off-shoring of industries, we're having issues with keeping parts for our nuclear missile systems. Now, I realize that some of you will think that this is perfectly fine, since you don't like nuclear missiles, but it's not the missiles we're having trouble finding the parts for. It's all the other shit, like gears for the elevators that they can't find. Which means that if we, at least, want to ensure that the missiles don't suffer a repeat of what happened in AR in 1980 (you know, unexpectedly blowing up because some yutz did something wrong), then we kinda need to make shit in the US.

BTW, Jay Leno was complaining about the lack of skilled folks in the US 20 years ago. I'll argue that the problem isn't quite as bad as he describes, because in his particular case, people were probably unfamiliar with the type of gears that he was describing, and that if he had gone with the gears to a fully modern shop, they could have made the gears, just on different kinds of machines than were originally used.

They need 50 votes, not necessarily all Democrats. I keep seeing high-profile people suggesting Republicans can be guilted into voting for BBB and I just have to laugh now.

Just to be clear Manchin is a damn gift. No one in the Senate has a higher WAR.

It is Cal Cunningham’s cell phone and Sara Gideon’s campaign manager that need to be taken out to a field and given the Office Space Printer treatment.

Oh, we were all full of shit that this would happen. We had to rush through the kickback gift to corporations bill because reasons. Separating the bills was necessary because reasons. That Bernie is a fucking liar and so are his Bernie Brats because the moderate dems would never do something like this, right @tafkats ? Pelosi would neverrt just cave like a little bitch and remove all leverage for her corporate overlords. She is a master negotiator, and she has ice cream.

This is why Biden does not get any support from progressives. This is why the dems will lose in 2022 and 2024 because there is no reason for a progressive to come out and vote almost trump. There is no real fight against manchin. If Manchin was standing in front of trump as a republican, Trump would have lambasted him every way he could. That would be something we would love to see. Instead, cotton eye ho is all about letting Munchkin get all the concessions and then still say no because he was never going to say yes in the first place.

The corporatist Biden Bros just melt and wonder why everyone hates them so much. You fucking suck. You are awful. You are lame. You are your own worst enemy. If you fought really hard and lost we would rise up and fight harder. Instead you lose before the fight even begins and you wonder why no one wants to support you unless the other option is extreme right wing tyranny. Thanks @Order2Chaos your people are working as intended. Maybe if they go more right people will get excited, and maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt.
