He's doing the voice. Dunno if they're pressing buttons to make him sound young, or if he can just do that.
I thought he was getting paid for the likeness, but the voice was from Battlefront because his voice sounded off. I guess the sounds guys are just doing some trickery.
Full disclosure: I haven't seen even a single episode of The Book of Boba Fett, so what I write here is opinion, but not necessarily informed opinion. It's ALWAYS been my worry that a show (or movie) about Boba Fett would inevitably fail to live up to expectations. It's because the allure of Boba Fett is the air of mystery that surrounds him. When you get too familiar with him, the mystique dissipates, and the interest goes with it. Another problem I foresaw was Temuera Morrison in the lead. Yes, I know he was Jango Fett in AOTC so he sorta, kinda has to be Boba in the new show. But, man, he's never seemed all that compelling as a leading man of any kind, let alone for an iconic figure like Boba Fett. He's also up in years and--let's just say--not a peak physical specimen. To me, it seems like they removed the mystery, and what's left is not all that engaging. Said it before and I'll say it again. In a Boba Fett film or show, the story should be about the guy or gal Boba Fett is after. It's The Fugitive, and Boba Fett is the Gerard character. We get to watch the procedural of him tracking his quarry down, part manhunt, part detective story. And we NEVER get to see him without the helmet.
This is one of those deep contractual things that none of us have access to the details on. Not only does it have to do with the contracts the actors signed way back in the '70s, but also with the contracts that SAG have negotiated in the years since. Throw in the fact that Disney might cut someone like Hamill a check, even though they're not contractually obligated to because they don't want the backlash of him publicly bitching about not getting paid, and it gets even more complicated.
Grogu has so far only lived about 1/20 of his possible lifespan. I think Grogu will choose the armor and go with the Djarin. It makes more sense from a story line POV. Everyone wants Grogu back on The Mandalorian. And he needs to not be in the new Jedi Temple when Kyle Ren destroys it.. He doesn’t know it, but Grogu will have plenty of opportunity to hone his force wielding skills later. Luke was nearly twenty when he learned and there are plenty of force sensitive beings out there doing their own thing who choose not to be Jedi or Sith.
You saw the original trilogy on VHS or laser disc because it wasn't released on DVD until 2004, seven years after the special editions were released. I know this because I was glad to quit having to watch them on VHS.
So it sounds like Book of Boba Fett could have just as easily been a new plotline we occasionally check in on in The Mandalorian?
Correct. They could have made Mando 3 with a through line of Boba Fett’s adventure and how Mando will interact with him. But the Disney felt Fett needed his own series so they gave him 2/3 of a series. It’s racist now that I’ve typed it out.
At this point I’m pretty much like fuck it, hook this to my veins and give me all the Star Wars. I don’t care what you call it, but I’m enjoying it
Nope, it was a voice actor for the latest episode. Disney used a program called Lola. https://comicbook.com/starwars/amp/...kywalkers-dialogue-for-the-book-of-boba-fett/
That is some serious bullshit, even if Hamill is getting some cheddar for Disney using his likeness. I know everyone is over the last two episodes, but it shows just what a train wreck this series is. We didn't need to see Grogu, Luke or Ahsoka. Not in this series. Last I checked, this series was called The Book of Boba Fett. (Mind you, the Boba Fett story line was tanking fast so it needed something...)
Yeah, but that's even more pathetic. This isn't a show that's been on the air for a year and is adjusting to reception as it goes. All seven episodes were written and filmed before it even premiered. This was a planned disaster.
Agreed. I wasn't suggesting that they were making things up in real time. It's very puzzling that the show took a sharp left turn on Episode 5 and basically shoved the main character aside. With some tweaks to the first four episodes, they really should have just made this Season Three of The Mandalorian. The whole thing about Luke Skywalker and the non-use of Mark Hamill also bugs the hell out of me. I get it when you do it for dead actors (as they did in Rogue One) but Mark Hamill is alive and well. Definitely some serious judgment calls from Disney. I'm especially disappointed with Jon Favreau, who so far has a stellar track record.
I don't think he's dead - if you're talking about Cobb Vanth. Bane shot him in the shoulder and and Bane knew he only got the upper hand because of the deputy. I think he wants a fair fight with Vanth - just to see who's better. and I think that's what the purpose of the opening scene - to show just how fast and how good Vanth is. I think he could take Bane when not distracted by stupidity.
Douglas Renholm is a fictional character. You must be thinking of Steven Toast, one of the greatest actors of all time.
