Whenever Stu-Stu pisses me of (which is 90% of the time) I go back and watch his show right after 9-11-01... it makes me smile. It also reminds me once he knew what the score really was. He's a shit bag.
Speck agrees: And Glenn Back is Pro GOP and Anti-Dem. So what's your point>[/QUOTE]Speck, the topic Axiom and I were discussing was If Jon Stewart was an equal opportunity mocker or not. Your comment is a non sequitur.
Yeah, Keith is smart, but he makes up for it by being a self absorbed asshole. Bill Maher is the same way. He has intelligence, but he's about as in love with himself as it gets. For me, yeah, Jon is liberal, but I think he just likes to make fun of politicians who fuck up. I know I do.
By calling the republican pundit a dick? That was a big plus for his show but I don't remember it affecting the demise of Crossfire.
What are saying no to? Ah back your non sequitur about comparing Mr Stewart to Mr. Beck. So you're claiming equivalency, that Stewart and Beck are each others counterparts, ying and yang? If so, I disagree. One thing that puzzles me is the need or the common desire to claim equivalency exists in the first place. There is nothing wrong with having a Jon Stewart without an anti-Jon Stewart. Much like I don't understand why some chaff at the idea that Stewart leans left. That somehow admitting he's a liberal would ruin the fun. And I'm sure a quick Google search would yield quotes of Stewart saying he is a liberal.
yes. But please elaborate on what I'm supposed to have seen there. and tell me how far back you mean because Beck himself says he's a different guy than he was before 9/11
Just thinking back to Glenn Beck's days at 970 WFLA in Tampa, the guy is absolutely a fraud. It's all about Glenn Beck, just wrapped up with some zany antics. What I find fascinating is that he pretends to be leading a movement when in fact the majority of his followers are garden variety Republicans.
I've never listened to his radio show and while I've seen his TV show I don't think he is anywhere near satire worthy. He's just a big meh. Being goofed on by Jon Stewart only helps his career. Seems he is most famous for annoying left-leaning folk, or maybe he epitomizes "the opposition" and makes for an easy target.
I have given my attention to both Glenn Beck and Jon Stewart and have found my annoyance of either increases exponentially after a couple of minutes. As a matter of fact, I can distinctly remember saying "what fucking ever" as I switched the channel to shield my ears from their inane banter before checking my DVR list to see if there happened to be a TNG rerun recorded earlier.
