I feel like Steve/Sam Cap and to an extension Bucky represents the ideals we want America to stand for and John Walker Cap is the reality of what America is.
Kind reminder that Marvel is late to the party. Trek had a Black Captain in 1995, and he was far more awesome than Sam Wilson.
I enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect but it was fun and it did a good job of world building and setting up Sam to be the new Cap. I wish they gave more to Sebastian Stan to do, and I'm still on the fence about Agent 13. I tend to think she is going to ultimatley be revealed to be a deep cover spy, as that was what the character was known for in the comics, but we'll see. The one thing I thought was gratuitous was Elaine's cameo. Yes, I know the name of the character, but she was playing Elaine. Blatant grab for an older women demographic. But overall very nice, and it will tide me over until She-Hulk and Shang-Chi.
One thing that bugged me was the rushed absolution of John Walker. They just kind of brushed over it after they went out of their way to make him a "bad guy." I think think the head nod between him and Sam at the end is what did it in for me.
I just binge-watched the last three episodes. Almost gave up after the third episode, which others in this thread have pointed out was dull and confusing as shit. But episodes 4-6 were really great. It felt a bit rushed in parts but overall, the series is a worthy addition to the MCU. I think I might like it even a bit better than WandaVision.
