Thanks for your reply. Opposing homosexuality doesn't mean I don't care about kids. It might in your opinion but certainly not in mine. I've mentioned previously the need to strengthen the traditional family unit among groups where it is virtually non-existent. I've mentioned my support for programs where children shouldn't have to worry about healthcare. And most importantly, I've talked about not killing children in the womb. I understand that you don't agree with me but I assure you children are the most important thing in the world to me.

here's the thing that TLS isn't grasping, or doesn't want to It's all very noble to say "I'm not trying to limit you legally but I'm morally opposed to what you do" if that's where it stopped. You could say the same thing about anything from consuming alcohol to getting a tattoo to a woman wearing pants. The thing is, almost no one who objects morally to a person drinking alcohol makes a public crusade out of making sure the drinker knows how much they disapprove of his drinking. Have whatever moral view you want in your own life, I fully support it - but don't go around pissing in everyone elses cereal so they know about your moral objections which they do not share.

The thing is "I don't hate gays because I have gay friends" sounds too much like the same statements people used to make about blacks to deny their racism. The problem is while a person who hates gays (or blacks) might well have friends of both groups...........It doesn't really mean anything. Friendships are personal and individual while racism (and biases against homosexuals) are generalized and directed at groups of people. Friendship in no way "inoculates" someone from hatreds of groups.
It's not a matter of opinion, unfortunately. Hate to burst your safe space bubble and all but reality don't work that way.
