Alright. I'll try exercise and more water. If that doesn't work in, say, a month, I'll add the rest of Volpone's advice! Thanks!
Usually to lose weight, you have to create a deficit between calories eaten, and calories burnt. Either by exercise, or by eating less. Exercise might work for you, as your weight gain looks very small over the course of a year. Try it...see what it does.
I'm stuck at 212. Didn't have a good two weeks eating wise, but I'm satisfied. It was actually a horrible week. Meetings almost everyday, with Chinese being the primary food, bagels for snacks, pastries every other time. I just had to watch how much I eat. Heart-rate is down to 54 at a resting state. Squat is up to 395lbs for 1RM. Thats almost a 200 lb gain in 3 months. Suck it Wayne.
So you're increasing your max and dropping weight at the same time? That's impressive. I'm still holding at 211, and my lifts are nothing special right now.
Yep. Hasn't been THAT great of a weight loss while I increase my max on everything, but I'm not gaining weight, thats for sure. I'm not going to hit a 500# squat without staying the same weight though. I might have to start bulking again too.
Well goddammit, I hurt my back. Apparently I stood up wrong (wasn't even lifting anything ) and felt a sharp pain in my back. Now it hurts to: 1. move 2. not move I've never hurt my back before. How long does this kind of thing usually last? I suppose running/lifting is out of the question for a while.
I just took a muscle relaxer, some tylenol, and plan to have a couple of drinks. Maybe that will help.
HOLY SHIT! I was reading this thread and munching on my delicious mini bag of chili cheese fritos, when I started feeling guilty and decided to at least look and see what I was putting into my body. 960 calories - 60 grams of fat - 90 grams of carbs.
Played badminton for the frist time in about a month yesterday. My right shoulder and groin muscles and left calf are now heavily complaining.....
Gaaah, Wayne, you're bad luck. I hurt my back, or tweaked it during work today. Lifting 300lb drill-stem back and worth would probably tend to do that. I think its just sore though. Upper right side of my back. I don't get paid enough for this shit.
You just ate almost 50% of your recommended caloric intake for maintaining present weight (not losing, just maintaining - 2000 calories a day for women), and 100% of your recommended fat intake. I'm pretty sure that's an awful lot of carbs for one snack, too.
Oh, and I did workout today. Upper right side of my back has nothing to do with squatting, and it has actually helped to increase the blood flow. You could try it too Wayne....light cardio. I feel only slight tension in my back now.
Well, I hurt my lower back, and that has everything to do with squatting. I'm at least to the point where I can do normal, non-lifting things without any pain. I should be back in the gym by Saturday.
I hate getting old. Two Wednesdays back I ran a Pysical Fitness Test, so I took off leading up to it to rest and after to recover. Last week I did swim qualifications most of the week, so I took the week off then too (that was OK, though. I was getting a damn fine workout.) But this week I managed to put off excercising until yesterday, when I went for maybe a 3.5 mile run. I had to walk a bit at the 2 mile mark and when I got home last night I had to go to bed an hour early. And today I feel like shit. I may be sick, though.
I'm maintaining at this point..but have lost 3.5 lbs! I feel pretty damn good right now. I was on the treadmill yesterday for about 20 mins and it almost killed me! I sweat like a pig..I think having my ipod on is a lot better than watching TV. I walk to the beat of the music..and sometimes I have real fast music which is quite a workout!!! I did splurge a little this weekend and had some chocolate and then a damn burger yesterday which wasn't that great. So today, I'm eating two eggs for lunch and maybe I'll get something else to go with it. But so far, so good because I've been getting compliments from people on my weight. That's always nice though..especially for me! I don't feel like such a cow and my thunder thighs don't rub together as bad as they did.
Work has been rough. I'm eating...OK , but I maybe manage to go for a run or work out once a week. So I'm getting soft and weak.
At the beginning of May, I was 180lbs and felt disgusting. Hood gave me this link: http://bodyforlife.com/ and I went to see my nurse with it for her to advise whether or not I was ok to have a go. She has backed me on a similar kind of plan and I've dropped 18lbs on it so far. I would like to drop another 40lbs for my wedding next June, but it's bloody hard going (I miss ice cream and cake!! )
Gave up on exercise (no one ever wanted to do it with me) so I started eating smaller portions. Down 3 pounds in 3 weeks. 2 more pounds or so, and I should be back to my pre-college weight, ready to pile on 7 or more pounds again. Though I did manage (for when I get back to college) to get a work-out buddy, and a group to swim with every week. Maybe that'll be enough to maintain my weight, and possibly build a little muscle? TKO will be buff! (Or most likely, less weak than before).
I don't need to lose any weight thankfully, but I do need to tone up a little (mainly my stomach). I'll probably start sit-ups soon and I'll be walking more now.
Well, I'm back in the gym for the first time since fully recovering from my back injury. I didn't lose too much on my lifts, and I lost two pounds while I was out of the gym.
How long did you miss? I had to take two weeks off because of work, and I ended up 'gaining' on everything.
