Now that I have a better idea of the timelines and why they needed DHS I have a different idea of the situation.

First off, there has to be an investigation into why the police did what they did in order to better prepare everywhere for the next attack.

This seems to be a clusterfuck because local yocal sherrifs are a cluster fuck. People are expecting way too much for what is essentially traffic enforcement, domestic assault, bar police, and general drug bust police. Training these cops to go in and take out a crazy gunman in a school full of kids would be a waste of time that your local sherrif type is not capable of accomplishing safely. For anyone who said a few local cops in the middle of nowhere should have charged in does not understand how many kids they would have shot. Having seen what local sherrifs can do I would not want some townie cop in the middle of nowhere going into a school full of hispanic kids. Maybe if it were a more densely populated area, but not the local yocal cops. Maybe if the cops were to go in unarmed with only their bullet proof equipment on to form human barricades so the kids could run for it, or maybe to distract the shooter by running in front of him while they snuck kids out the back and he wasted his bullets. Those are not very good plans.

I know they are going to pin this shit on the local cops, and they are local sherrifs so I am fine with that because they are probably like the cops on super troopers.

Making a perimeter is what they are supposed to do because you do not want them playing with their guns. I have met too many local cops to even be under the delusion they could have made things better by storming in unless the idea was just to have them catch the bullets in their bodies so he did not have as many to shoot other people.

The narrative is wrong. It's not that the cops waited for an hour.

The cops didn't do anything except handcuff parents trying to save their children.

The Border Patrol had been on the scene for 30 minutes in full tactical gear and chose to ignore the commander on site and went in on their own.

Look it's complicated.

On the one hand it's a definite proven fact that restricting access to certain types of guns absolutely reduces deaths and mass shootings.

On the other hand Paladin and UA really enjoy that it's easy for them to buy a gun to play with.

The first point I want to make is none of us are there. A lot of the stuff we are hearing might be fabricated by people making assumptions or reacting. Then there is also police lying, and also there is people lying about the police because they want to feel important. There are parents setting up lawsuits and trying to get on camera. There are two political parties and the NRA making propaganda articles right now trying to trumpsplain to their point.

Unless you are going to Dox yourself and show us all your really really real border patrole ID and really real name we are all just rationalizing and discussing this and you do not know that all the cops did is handcuff parents and fuck around. That may be what they did, I have seen the evidence they did cuff some parents. But we do not know what context that was in. The woman said she went into the school and got her kid once she got uncuffed. In all honesty I could see that pissed off mother beating on the cops at the scene and needing to be restrained. We do not know.

Oh, and good for the kids for calling but we know they called and were talking to dispatchers in phone banks miles away who were trying top get info to police channels. Even if those kids were directly talking to the officers, do you think they were spitting out good tactical information? They were elementary school kids.

An investigation will happen, but it is way too soon to say anything about having compiled the facts if all you are getting is the same feeds as we are. The shooter is dead and all we have is time to figure out why.
