The Hell? Another mass shooting

This time, it's an Elememtary school.

I wonder what's getting all these chuckle heads so riled up this year.

It's the 2012 "End of the World" loonies on a rampage.

I figure most of these things are personal issues at heart (so to speak).

Sad that people impose their madness on others.

Things like this are definitely heart issues. No way around it.

I'm praying for everyone impacted by this. Hopefully this won't be politicized.

Lets not talk about guns though. That would be insensitive.

Because school violence is a relevant and immediate issue for students, I'm allowing my class right now to monitor these events online.

My prayers go out for the wounded, their families, and of course the families of the dead.

Prayers also for the students though not physically injured who will no doubt be scarred emotionally and mentally by this horrible act for some time to come.

I'm having trouble seeing motivations for this. It has to be a divorce/abuse/custody or a parent seeking revenge for bullying of their kid. Those are the only things that I can think of.

Shooter was 18 to 20. Some type of domestic dispute where police surrounded a house and were searching wooded area.

27 dead. 8 adults one of which is the shooter. Rest are kids.

Wore all black and some type of military "type" vest. Could mean anything until we get further details.

Someone has been taken into custody. Earlier it was believed there may have been two shooters.

The right for a six-year old to not be murdered by a psychopath with a gun shall not be infringed.

The right for a six year old not to be killed by an asshole because he was drinking alcohol shall not be infringed.

Punishing the law abiding by taking away their rights because someone commits a crime won't stop evil acts being committed.

If there's one thing mass shooting have taught me, it's that we should jump to as many wild eyed conclusions as possible in these first hours after the tragedy.

There is a second gunman and he has been caught. Also reports there are four guns involved.

This town has a weird setup for schools. The elementary school where the shooting took place, along with three others, only teaches grades K-4 while one another elementary school teaches grades 5 and 6. Do you really need that many schools for a town of under 2,000?

You're totally right. These children were acceptable casualties in the fight for freedom. Can't make an omelet without breaking a couple eggs, right? And increasing mental health services...well, that would be downright ding dang socialist. USA! USA!

It is more than possible that no laws whatsoever would've prevented or mitigated this tragedy.

It was that away across the whole country. All of a sudden the death toll jumped to 27.

It's also being reported that a .223 was used. Not sure which rifle. Probably an AR-15.

My town had three schools teaching K-5, then one "middle school" for 6,7 & 8.
Much bigger population, though.

And oddly enough, no school shootings, even before GCA '68..
