I mean, it definitely has been in the US. In some decades, considerably more so. You ever see the SNL Black Jeopardy sketch with Tom Hanks as a MAGA hat-wearing redneck, and it turns out that he's the best white person to ever play the game because they basically share a culture via class? 65 years ago that probably would have gotten the producers hauled before HUAC as dangerous subversives, and would not have been found funny at all. Right now, questionable, but there's definitely a sizable portion of the population that'd like to make it so again, and are perfectly willing to sabotage their own economic interests as long as it keeps the "wrong" races down. That includes a few in Congress (though they're pretty much all rich, but some of their constituents are quite poor, but still elect them anyway). Don't fail to recognize tribalism playing out just because it's not two classes.

The verdict corresponded to the laws in place. That does not mean those laws are good, that just means he did not violate what we had. He ran away and should not have been chased down.

I do think we need a law that says if you travel with your gun to get in other people's faces to intimidate and threaten them you have committed a crime. Either that or ban guns so when a person does whip one out in public to intimidate and threaten others they are arrested.

Please do not think that I find a 17 year old buying a gun so he can threaten protestors and then going out and doing that is legal behavior with a gun. If threatening protestors is the reason you want to be armed, then you do not need to be armed.

Nor was he heading to Madison to protect businesses from frat boys running amok after a big football game.
