everyone trying to pull off a hair-brained scheme thinks they are the smartest person in the room and won't get caught. Smollett is a manipulative self-centered sociopathic punk who was using racial & homophobic hatred and hotbed politics as a stepping stone to boost his career. I'm glad his scheme blew up in his face.

Well, he isn't fired yet. So far, it's just suspended.

Though if he's prosecuted he may wind up off the show one way or another.

He is gone. They don't pull your character from a season ending and keep you on. I would not blame anyone for avoiding working with him in the future either. This sort of manipulation and drama makes him a huge problem child. It is like the MAGA kid who is making his lawsuits now. If I am hiring and looking for someone and they orchestrated controversy for the sake of money or lawsuits I would just move on to the next person. Yes, they deserve to be passed over, and in smollett's case charged and spend time in jail.

The only thing I would say, and this does go for people who are MAGAts today as well as Smollett, is that sometime in the future we have to give them a chance to have learned from their crazy and work somewhere again. No one was physically hurt, and none of this sort of drama is the end of the world.

Fighting for more money is one thing. Everyone does it.

a felony means nothing in the entertainment world. Like the church, they have their own rules for their own insular world. But what will hurt Smollett (whether he was charged or not for what he did) it reflects on his character. He is a "blue falcon" AKA buddy fucker in the military. He can't be trusted and nobody will want to work with him. He's trouble with a capital T.

Unless they lie to the police, the answer would be no.

It may not necessarily be right or appropriate to report someone to the police--and the police can make that judgment at the time the report is made--but it's not a crime unless someone knowingly makes a false claim.

What startles me the most about that is that apparently "Slip Naughty" was unaware that it was seriously illegal to file false police reports until the CPD and Jussie Smollett educated us all on the matter.

There is the ultimate crime, right there. That a racist criminal could commit a crime with the sole aim of harming race relations and inciting racial anger yet he doesn't get punished for his racism. That is a crime against both god and humanity.

Maybe if the cheats and liars who spend all day looking for imaginary "racism" spent even part of that time looking at actual racism... Well, things might get better. In the mean time putting these criminals to death is probably the single most positive and productive thing which can be done.
