I don't mean to be anxious, but until certain things are made clear, I'm not entirely ready to make idle conversation.

    I hope you understand.

The message you sent me was...well I don't really think I have to explain what it was like. You wrote it.

    Again, I hope you understand.

If I ever write a book about it, I'll let you know.

    It's quite a long story.

The short answer- stress relief. Like violently mutilating the embodiment of anxiety.

Doing it allows me to be more generally cordial with him. As you might notice.

And yes, I do find humor in the idea of using the words, "I'll be a lot nicer to you after I've gutted you, filled your empty corpse with candy, and let children hit you with bats for a while."

I'm finally starting to find comedy in pure, unadulterated evil.

    First, my favorite.

Never really trained. The only classes I've ever taken were basic drawing classes in high school, but all it taught me was more on fine art.

Around that time I studied a bit more on anatomy, but for the most part I've just been drawing for a long-ass time.

Right now, I'm going to start working on characterism using celebrity actors.

I have this idea of using actors to play themselves in cartoons, but they'd be playing a character like in a movie.

So it would be Al Pacino playing a cartoon character that looks exactly like him, clearly Al Pacino, only he's playing a character role, just as he would in a live-action movie.

It gives a level of realism to the cartoon that you don't get often.

Dude, if you do that thing with Al Pacino, I want a copy. Please!! He is one of my favorite actors.

That sounds like a fantastic idea. But legally, I don;t know. But for your personal portfolio.....go for it!!

Well the idea is for future endeavors. It would be with the actor's approval, because...well...I wouldn't do it unless the actor did their own voice.

It would work just like movie roles work. I would contact the actors that I think could play a specific role well, and go with the best choice that said yes.

I've been working on a few, but nothing satisfying yet. It's a work in progress. It's quite a challenge to really get the personality to come through on a character based on an actual person.

Pacino is definitely on the top of my list of actors to work on. Pacino, Cusack, Pitt, Weaving, Dustin Hoffman, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and a few more.

I'm going to work on actors first, because they're easier to characterize than actresses.

When you say double chin, if you're talking about the District Attorney in the second drawing, he isn't anyone I know, just a character I made up. A figure I wanted to be very political.

If it's the last drawing, then it's just a really bad Darkest_Noir. Doesn't look anything like him, but I liked the angle and the expression.

And yes, I'm still using mechanical pencils.

Yeah, I was talking about the last one. And it definitely doesn't look like him, but I like the expression as well.

Also, the reason I asked about the pencils is because there was some shading that looked like actual drawing pencils.

But job well done! You've improved immensely with these drawings!

Two new drawings, more to come.

    First, something a bit...*ehem*...artistic.

A little more of me than I've ever drawn, but the idea doesn't work any other rightful way, in my opinion.

Inner conflict always seemed like such an epic battle to me, regardless of who the individual is. I love hearing about peoples' inner struggles. It makes them human.

So here's what I feel is pretty representative of the importance of my own personal conflict.

Don't get too on about it. Sorry to disappoint, but the way I figure it, souls have no genitalia.

Second, I figured if I were to draw my own evil representation, I should do the same with the others. Here's the one that I've finished. Those who know who it is will recognize him. Hopefully.

So instead of hoping on the show, why don't you start putting some of these awesome pictures over some cool backgrounds, throw down a few word bubbles and make a god damn comic already. You have talent, don't waste it waiting for someone else to recognize it.

It's not that I'm wasting time, it's that I lack the funds and time at the moment to jump into it.

As soon as I get settled, I'm going to approach some newspapers and see if I can get a comic strip deal.

I have some comic book connections, including a few that are well known in the Marvel and DC rounds, but again, I lack the time and funds.

I should be able to get much more done over the next year, but it'll probably be two or three months before I'm able to.

Without you ever saying so I woudn't have known that- I just wanted to encourage you to do something because you have obvious talents and last I'd known you were still holding out hope on Williams Street.

My only other advice- don't take a job with rigidly set guidelines and work hours to make ends meet while you try to get projects together. Sure, the pay is better than most random shift jobs, but you lose a lot of time to yourself and are tired more often in your spare time.

My only other thought, is that by now you could have been doing Space Pirates as a webcomic and selling merch in the meantime. That would also get you more exposure and make some parties more interested in taking the idea for a spin. If you work contracts properly, you can retain rights to continue the comic seperate from the flow of the show, should anyone ever be interested in making a series out of it.

No, with Williams Street, at the moment, it's really just interesting connections, and now it's becoming more entertaining because Adult Swim is starting in on big name sponsors like Burger King and Toyota. With this, their funds are drastically improving, and they'll have the budget to begin bigger projects, such as Space Pirates would be.

If I did a comic strip, I wouldn't do Space Pirates, because the type of humor you get in Space Pirates wouldn't translate well into strip, assuming I keep the storyline.

I would likely do the anime/realism characters that you see above, because it would be untapped American comic strip potential, with an involving storyline that will get audiences thinking, and not just giggling.
