Yep. He made claims that "they" were out to get him for "speaking the truth," and it's like, guy, no one is targeting you for your conspiracy theory Youtube channel. Teaching self-defense is kind of like being a psychologist: the people who can benefit the most from what you have to offer probably will never come see you. The idea that defending oneself necessarily involves fighting (spoiler alert: it doesn't) or is somehow not something women should do is heartbreaking. At least some of these women (not all by means) could have had a chance of not becoming victims, but the social norms somehow stand in the way. My classes right now are entirely male ranging from teen age to 40ish. They're all great people and eager to learn how to protect themselves, but I'd love to help women empower themselves. Funny, there seemed to be more who were willing to take the step pre-Trump made misogyny an accepted part of right-wing culture than there are now. I don't get it.
