I'm moving our company site from a vps to a dedicated server, and am considering hosting at The Planet.

    RAM: 4096 MB RAM
Intel Xeon 3060 Dual Core Conroe Processor
OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux - x86_64, Version 5
    5 IP Addresses
    100 Mbps Uplink
    2000 GB Bandwidth
    Drive Controller: SAS/SATA
    HDD: 146GB, 10K RPM SCSI/SAS Hard Drive
    Control Panel: cPanel/WHM with Fantastico

I'm looking at the above package for $189/mo.

Has anyone here had any experience with them? Any insight?

    No a RAM card
The best servers have a card in that holds 16-24Gb of RAM. When operating the server loads the OS and runs all input and output from this RAM disc rather than the HD's. Its means access and retrieve time for non stored data is almost instantaneous.

You can even do it on a normal home PC. Add a card with 8-10 Gb RAM and make it so windows loads into that... along with I/O and the registry and other things.
It makes your computer react instantly.
Never done it myself, but a mate builds servers and always incorporates RAM cards

Oh, no. Never heard of that before now. I would assume only companies like Amazon have those. I mean, I don't even have one of those for our mission critical internal server.

I didn't realize anyone made RAM cards anymore. Come to think of it, I've only ever seen one, and it just runs DDR-400, and only up to 4GB of it.

Rather odd, mostly inane blog posting (check the comments)

There are probably others out there too, these are just the ones I found with a quick Google search.
