I know this guy. We're not pals or anything, in fact I always thought he was an asshole but I never suspected he was molesting children.

I've known murderers, thieves, and drug dealers but never a child molester. This makes me wanna expel the contents of my stomach violently.

Is there a non-violent way of gutting someone like a fish?

Sedate them first - but that would kind of defeat the purpose. Maybe you can get someone with a calm, smooth demeanor to gut him, like Morgan Freeman.

Ah yes, gotcha. Yes I will be that guy, the one they ask about a suspect's character - "Did I ever see any signs?!! Well hell y... Wait is he still alive? Yeah? Oh no he was as solid as the day is long. Wait what? He's dead? That mother-fucking was a ticking time bomb, can't believe the crazy fuck didn't explode before now!"

How could I have been so blind?!!

Joking aside, I actually find the news troubling. I've known all variety of folk but never a pedophile. Guess it's an odd mix of shock, anger, with a little bit of guilt thrown in.

The whole idea that someone could be a pedophile, that they could look at children in a sexual way and act on it, is completely beyond my comprehension. If I ever caught someone in the act of molesting or raping a child, my wrath would be the last thing they saw as their life was suddenly snuffed out.

You run with an interesting crowd. I've only ever knowingly known drug dealers, and even with them, the only drug was pot. Are there still a bunch of outlaws hiding out in those south county canyons?

No reason to feel guilt. You can't have known, what exactly was your responsibility here?

You know, sometimes you never know. But at other times you're really surprised at what happens to people. I went to school and have know people who have wound up in prison for all sorts of things. I know, well knew three people who are serving life sentence for murder, I knew several people who have served or are still in prison for child molestation. And not to mention the people who have served some time in either jail or prison for drug dealing, dealing in stolen cars, manslaughter, etc. One guy I worked with served a few years in Federal Prison for weapons charges, he was found with somewhere around 150 un-registered assault rifle, most of them were AK-47's and M-16's, and plans for bombs and the equipment/supplies for making them.

Clyde is lucky he's not 9 years old. :soma:

And Gul, don't kid yourself....we all know some thieves.

Well I know plenty of guys and some girls that have been to jail for various crimes. One guy, that was in for murder. But I don't believe he did it. Its a long story that has to do with the mob, martial arts and love.

And some guys for sexual assault who were just plain stupid.

Oh I'm sure I know some. I just don't know anybody who has been caught or let me in on the secret. Well, unless you mean stealing pens at work.

[edit]Actually, we had a guy at work who was stealing a lot more than that, and I was the one who figured it out. So that's one, not sure why I forgot all about him, though, considering I put together the evidence briefing that we provided to the police.[/edit]

That's exactly what I'm taking about. Years ago my folks had their house repainted, the painter did a fantastic job, he had been recommended by other satisfied customers, you know, my folks' friends. Anyway, years pass, and long after moving to a new home they found out (via the old neighbors) that the house painter, who had done such a fine job, had killed his wife and her body was in a freezer the entire time he was repainting the old neighborhood.

While not co-workers, I met with him more than a few times.

While their current home doesn't need painting I can only imagine the interview process for the next would be painter....

"Okay, looks good, one last question, did you murder your wife and stuff her in a freezer?"

Umm... that is a dumbass. Inkjet printing does not look anything close to a real bill. Not so much the color itself (which would still be off), but the image quality would be very far off from a real bill.

Yup. One department store I worked at, the nicest guy in the camera department got busted with massive amounts of kiddie porn. Another guy I knew from high school murdered his wife, then crashed his car into a semi. The cops only found her when they went to the house to tell her he'd died in the crash.

As for the murderer I knew, he was a quiet twenty-something. A perpetual sidekick sorta guy, just shuffling along through life. Anyway, after a while he just disappeared. Turns out he put a pistol into another guy's mouth and pulled the trigger.

    He's still in prison.
