Since it's getting (kinda) close to primary time, I thought it's time for the Wordforge Caucus to convene and select our choices for the Presidential Race.

This will be an open primary because I'm too lazy to make seperate polls by party. The Republican and Democrat getting the most votes will go up in another poll.

Any questions? Too bad. This isn't Florida. Shut up and vote.

I voted for Ron Paul. Even though I think a few of his issues are misguided, at least you know where he stands. Everyone else is a snake in the grass.

Truth be told, I'd rather see him as the head of a legislature than I would the country, but I digress.

I went with Ron Paul. I disagree with him on Iraq, but I agree with him on America. The only other person on the list worht a shit is Mike Huckabee. The rest of the list can go take a flying fuck as far as I'm concerned.

Right now, it's Ron Paul 17, Democrats 8, other Republicans 9, and just plain "other" 6.

Looks like WordForge isn't exactly representative of America as a whole, but we can dream anyway...

Oh sure...stick my head out so you can attack me...

    Oh shit!!!

Okay, I can see myself most likely voting for some Hillary/Obama ticket, since I am a lefty (and Stephen Colbert won't be on the ballot in my state!!!) and there's no way I want to fucking see a President Rudy!!!

But I do have strong social libertarian leanings, and I am seriously considering registering Republican just so I can cast my vote for Ron Paul in the primaries.

(Seriously, I am dead serious about doing that.)

    Seriously.

It's still the preseason, at this stage in the game the candidati blend together. A big amorphous blob claiming everything, committing to nothing while vaquely promising something to everyone.

Given what we currently know about the candidati if we could separate one Democrat and one Republican from the blob the choice is clear: Mike Gravel (D) and Duncan Hunter (R).

    Why?

Because they have by far the coolest action hero names.

    Mike Gravel Private Eye -

A gruff thug with a heart of unpolished gold, he spends most of his time atoning the only way he knows how, bringing justice to the streets his way.

    Duncan Hunter -

Okay so basically his name sounds like a cool Highlander spin-off. I'm thinking some dude from Kansas with a crappy sword on a quest to behead a fictional character.

    Or perhaps

    Duncan Hunter Donut Slayer!

Interesting. I'm very surprised at the high outcome for Hillary. I have a hard time imagining a WFer falling for her kind of lies. If it weren't for primaries and she were the only likely winning alternative to Rudy, that would be different.

(Given my non-Americanness, I didn't vote. If I were American, I'd probably vote for Obama; as long as I can stay here in Europe, I'd love to see the US under a President Ron Paul.)
