And, if we can figure out shit like a real-life Harry Potter invisibility cloak, then aliens who can cross vast distances can figure out much better versions of the same kind of shit. Which means that if a craft shows up on radar, or is visible to the naked eye, they fucking want us to see it. And if they're going to be that bold, then why not just go ahead and land on the White House lawn or in front of the UN? :chris:

You see, you are trying to say it is impossible while still saying it is possible. You may not be aware of these things, and they may not be common, but we can do all sorts of things. That does not even mean we see them in everyday life. They might be to costly to become common, or they might be top secret, but you have presented no evidence that we do not have these technologies here on earth.

Sorry, but like always your primitive mind has made a faulty argument.

Oh, to certain people I have no problem with driving @Zombie nuts without resorting to changing my username. Zombie has a very acute case of tererunintus which results in a super sensitive butt and lots of whining and bad arguments. Granted he had those things before, but the illness inflames those already sensitive areas.

    No you dumb fuck.

What I am saying is that if the description of how these UFO's moved through the atmosphere, given to us by the Navy pilots, is correct that there is no technology currently known to humans that can duplicate what the UFO's did.

The idea that aliens would be interested in our planet makes little to no sense as our planet does not have any resources you could not easily get elsewhere. The possibility of a scientific study of humanity would be reliant on not being detected and my thought is there would be better ways to study our technology than to start playing around in the area of it.

Are you understanding the words I am typing? That claim itself is erroneous. Yoyu cannot make that claim in fact because you and those pilots are not aware of all the technologies known to humans.

They don’t want to land on the White House lawn. They know that we know that they exist, but they’re not going to necessarily say, “hi, we’re here and our agenda is x.” It’s kind of like bird watching for them or catch and release or something like that.

Your premise is entirely wrong. if this was a denny's at 2 am I would have ordered coffee on my way in the door. and they don't really care if I use their wifi to expound upon spacy ideas.

Ya know that bird watchers do everything that they can to make sure the birds can't see them or know that they're there, right? Because if the birds know there's someone watching them they're not going to act naturally. Ever heard of Cargo Cults? That's what happens when a primitive society peacefully interacts with a more advanced society. (When they don't interact peacefully, you get a genocide, but that's another story.) If aliens are wanting to study us as the same way anthropologists study Amazon tribes, then they're going to want to make sure that they have as little impact on our culture as possible. Which means ensuring that we don't know they're watching us.

@Federal Farmer do you know how much room and ability you save when you remove the pilot from the situation? There is a lot of "design" that is meant to accomodate a pilot. Without one you could direct propulsion much more fluently and move a vehicle much more rapidly in differing directions.

I would also like to point out that you cannot actually trust your eyes in the skies because your visual system works on associations to fill in the gaps. If something was "alien" or never before seen in the sky your processing of what you saw without anything familiar to compare it to would possibly be an invention of your brain. This is a very real thing that has been studied and known to be true. Basically looking at an object we cannot identify off in a distance we cannot know in a field of view that does not include anything our mind can reference it will literally make shit up.

So before @Zombie concludes that this navy pilot saw something he can tell was not man made we first have to realize his brain might have interpreted the visual data from his eyes in that way, and that can be influenced by memory and imagination.

hmmm.....good point! Except if an alien said that we couldn't understand it, because it would sound like that weird crackling noise like in that movie "Signs". You know, where the aliens can master space travel but freak out over a spinning bicycle wheel when exploring a house. Or maybe that was the Tom Cruise version of "War Of The Worlds."

Or, maybe you have no idea of how technology progresses. We’re on the verge of making drones the size of insects. These will have cameras, microphones, and radio transmitters on them. If we can do that, space traveling aliens can make something better and smaller. They’ve literally no need to fly down here in a spaceship to have a look around.

Indeed, our idea of space exploration and alien contact is curiously tied into thinking based on the technology of the past, we project our own traditions and experiences onto beings who would have little use for them.

Where a scientist thinks we should look for evidence of aliens.
And let me add, that it'd be just as easy for the aliens to make their probe look like an asteroid orbiting the Earth, and we'd never be the wiser until we landed on the thing and poked around.

Now, I know you're probably thinking, "But aliens would still want to visit the planet to stick things up our butts." Look at this:

That's a reconstruction of what a Denisovan would have looked like. We did it using only DNA samples extracted from a few small bones (finger bones, teeth, and part of the jaw). We don't have anything approaching a complete skull for one of them, yet our ability to figure out what a different species of human is advanced enough that all we need is some DNA and we can tell what they looked like. And the technology is only about a decade old. Imagine what we'll be able to do in 20 years, or a hundred, or a thousand. Aliens wanting to know all about us wouldn't need to abduct people and shove satellite dishes up their asses, they'd just send down a shit ton of microprobes to sample DNA from life down here (hey, maybe that fly buzzing around your head is an alien probe scooping up your DNA), and they'd get all the information they wanted.
