Pretty much my attitude as well. As long as you're not bothering me with it, I don't care about your lifestyle.

Cis and trans-acting factors have been part of the scientific lexicon (regarding the way in which genetic regions interact on chromosomes) for a long time.

The typical definition of cis in chemistry is: denoting or relating to a molecular structure in which two particular atoms or groups lie on the same side of a given plane in the molecule. Someone extrapolated that to refer to gender identification i.e. your gender is the same as the physical structure.

He’s derailing just about every thread now, even if you try not to feed it. The task of separating it all out would be monumental, and it’s not as if they haven’t tried.

True, but we're not slaves to our impulses. We can choose not to act on them and, in fact, we often do because it's the wiser course.

Is this like that black day of absence thing?

You're only invisible because that's how you choose make yourself to be. Nothing's stopping you from revealing who you truly are but yourself. "But muh feelings" fuck off with that shit, no ones' obligated to make you feel better. And if people treat you like crap for this, then maybe, just maybe, they arent the right people for you to be around.

Though I confess to having impulses better suppressed, none of them involve the penises of others. Sorry.

Sorry to be vanilla, but I'm hetero and monogamous and what @El Chup has pointed out is exactly right. Even if you personally don't reveal anything on WF, the scavengers (and I include Tamar, who set the tone, labeling me a "celebrity" and therefore I and mine were "fair game") such as  have nothing else to do but scrounge the Internet looking for "dirt," because that's what they do.

Sadly for them, I've learned long before the Internet that if you don't want something known - even the most innocuous thing - you keep schtum. So the only thing Tamar et al. could do was attack me via my S.O. With Tamar gone, the Daytons and the Flashys spend their time showing their asses vis-a-vis their lack of understanding of what it means to be a working writer, which is what I am. I've never pretended to be anything else.

Flash/Dayton "Oooo, you say something smart I can't refute, so I mock your writing, which I haven't read, duh!"

It gets them a few cheap laughs, and that's apparently important to them.

Then there are the "I'm revealing myself but I've got you on Ignore so I can't read your response" :nyer: types like the thread starter.

Precious few Real Life, face-to-face encounters have so many arcane rules.

No. My statement is a general principle, not an absolute. Also, I'm of the "do what you like just don't make it my problem" school.

When you read something I write that seems like a double entendre, you can be reasonably sure it's intentional.

Fair enough, though I wouldn't include being gay as a lifestyle, just as I wouldn't believe breathing to be a lifestyle. I know you're not equating it like Dayton is, but just trying to keep that clear because there are too many who look at same sex couples and assume someone can just deny themselves the desire to connect with other human beings, and I mean for life.

I don't believe the impulse to be gay is a choice, although the behavior is. Still, I don't have a problem with consenting adults getting their freak on in whatever way.

Your first sentence has been the Catholic Church's stance for decades. The second, absolutely Verboten!

"Yes, God made you this way, but you're not supposed to act on it." Catholic clergy can lawyerball anything. And then they end up preying on kids. :jayzus:

well decreeing it forbidden certainly has worked out well, hasn't it? :brood: How many hundreds of years until the church reluctantly even acted like they gave a shred of a shit about young boys getting poked?
