Mark this date on your calendar. We saw eye-to-eye on something! I guess the worst part is I really was hoping I would see something that made me excited about being a Trek fan again (or former fan re-energized).
AICN has posted an "enhanced" version of the trailer at: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/39238 Seriously, no joke.
Yeah, makes me think it might be a couple of decades past Nemesis that he's coming from. Can anyone identify the writing on the wall behind him?
It's actually easier to read in the 480p trailer. "LOW CLEARANCE" between the two yellow something or others. I think he's on the Enterprise under construction.
I believe when the movie comes out you will find that is crater created by a nuclear detonation some years before.
Unlikely. Nuclear detonation craters would not have such high steep cliff walls. It's more likely an excavation site.
Ayuh. Here's the cover of the Trek11 prequel comic. Note, post-Nemesis Data and Picard, "Unification", age Spock, and a much younger and un-tatooed Nero.
Oh, wait, there is no post-Nemesis Data, they fuggin' killed him. Well, it's either pre-Nemeshits Data, or B4.
No, no, no. Nero went back in time, got Data's head from where it was buried in Times Arrow, stuck it on Bender's body and sent Fry back to be Kirk's grandfather. In the sequel 'The Search For the Hole Where Nero Got Data's Head' Whoopi Goldberg makes a cameo as Picard after a sex change.
Its detailed in a number of presentations of 20 mins worth of footage that JJ has been giving in Europe and the US.
That had better not be a fur-lined jacket he's wearing. Or at least it had better be synthetic fur. Unless he's gone completely human...
Synthetic humans, synthetic alcohol. So......synthetic bearskin, no? Doohan Scotty would have approved.
It's a well known fact that Vulcan is actually a front for the Romulan Mugato fur Mafia. Did you not see the DS9 ep 'Quark Gets the Horn'?
So I was noodling around on the Star Trek Chronology Wiki and as i came to the fictional birthdates of the characters I decided to add those to the remarks I'd made earlier about the ages of the actors here - understanding of course that none of these fictional birthdates are verified onscreen, AFAIK: Assuming that the beginning of Kirk's command is in 2264 and acknowledging that you'd need to know the exact birtdate and launch date to be precise about the age... Shatner - 35 (i.e. supposedly 33 when he took command if you assume actor's age for character's age) Pine - 28 Kirk born 2233 - should be 31 in 2264 Nimoy - 35 (33 - the exception since Vulcan's age differently)) Quinto - 31 Spock born 2230 - 34 (I never liked this - slower aging Vulcans mean you should be able to tack at least 15 or 20 years onto this) Kelly - 46 (44) Urban - 36 McCoy: 2227 - 37 Doohan - 46 (44) Pegg - 38 Scott: 2222 - 42 Nichols - 33 (31) Saldana - 30 Uhura: 2239 - 25 Takei - 29 (27) Cho - 36 Sulu: 2237 - 27 Koenig - 29 (27 - obviously too old for the character) Yelchin - 19 Checkov: 2245 - 19 So, Kelly and Koenig were way too old in the original, Cho is way too old in the Nu. Everyone else can pass more or less for the age they should be (laying aside Paldin's complaints about a 30 year old Kirk just finishing Academy)
