I will give people the benefit of the doubt on this, perhaps underserverdly so. It is pretty impossible to contemplate any universe where putting our knee on the neck of a handcuffed suspect who is not actively struggling or anything for 7 plus minutes is damn fine policing. (I have not watched and won't watch the video but thaqt is my understanding of what it shows.) So what really is there to discuss about in an underlying case like this. It's awful, it's tragic, we hope it doesn't happen again Wirh one or two exceptions, everyone is going to agree on that. The people who are protesting and not destroying property or threatening people are only breaking minor laws. It's different when people cross the line into destruction or potential threats to others.
So not only do we have an officer who is caught red handed killing a guy, we have evidence of a pattern of behavior that was ignored. There is going to be a huge lawsuit when this is done and I hope the family hits them hard.
Seeing a lot of pics and video of white guys in masks that are probably antifa smashing and looting stores But you read social media or look at mainstream media and they’re using footage of black folks and blaming them Seems like the black folk are taking a lot of heat for something these antifa clowns probably wanted to happen and are actively engaging in
I like how you speculate who the folks in masks are, while blaming the MSM for presenting a false picture of who's doing the looting. And based on a Google search, black appears to be the color choice for Antifa masks.
Well when you factor in the antifa twitter accounts directing people to crowd fund for their members that get arrested and praising their “brothers” work in Minneapolis it’s not that hard to speculate who’s behind the masks
Are you trying to say antifa is not present in MN and part of the rioting? Not sure what you’re going for here
I'm saying that someone bitching about the media giving a false impression of events probably shouldn't then engage in the same kind of activities by speculating about who is doing what. As of right now, we know people are looting, that's pretty much it. AFAIK, no information about who (if anyone) has been arrested for looting has been released. If you're going to "speculate" that it's Antifa folks, then you cannot rule out the "speculation" it's actually right-wingers trying to start either a race or civil war. Nor can you discount the possibility that it's both, or groups nobody has heard of.
No, I'm just not going to accuse someone or an organization of committing a crime without evidence. You'll notice that I haven't speculated that it's right-wingers doing all the looting, even though I'm not a fan of right-wingers.
Interesting. From what he said, it doesn't sound as if he's basing this off of any arrests just what community leaders have told him.
Again, this story is missing crucial context. What were the previous complaints? What was Chauvin's alleged role in them? What did Klobuchar do (or fail to do) in investigating the allegations? Were those choices reasonable or not?
Doesn’t matter. I’m relatively sure Amy Klobuchar investigated and made the correct decisions on previous cases. But given this case, the media playing up the officers record without context, and she has in the past been accused of being police friendly and her VP chances are rapidly sinking. It’s not fair to her but that’s what is going to happen. The Biden team is going to run away from her. And this case might actually hurt Biden too. A lot of people are saying he should pick a black person as VP and were miffed that Amy seems to be getting press. If he picks some other white person he might make trouble for his campaign. Again not fair to him either but that’s what would probably happen. Especially when Trump starts laying into whoever he picks.
