Honestly? Fear mongering. Unlike every other GOP candidate I can remember, he didn't lead in with religion, reproductive rights (his sexism is another story) or keeping guns. Trump even managed to throw our military under the bus. Nope, he busted out the "build a wall around Mexico" and "ban all Muslims" bullshit and his supporters ate it up in spades. When people like Zombie wonder why minorities look at the GOP as though most of them are bigots, I'll continue to point right back to this election and that horrendous choice of a running mate, and how voters flocked to him for it.
No one needs to control the FEC. They are as effective at keeping people from violating their rules as trump and hillary are at obeying them. Forgot ing leaders are telling us trump is asking them to include certain our elections, and the FEC is picking their asses. Why do we even have them when they allow blatant violations of their rules?
Not quite. See, everyone I knew assumed Hilary's success in 2008 before Obama ran. He didn't even expect the nomination, let alone the win. People weren't excited about Hilary, and when they got another refreshing choice, they took it, rather than shrug and say "well, why bother cuz no one will vote for a black guy and he might get shot in office anyway." Jesse Jackson ran in '84. No one voted for him. He was likely going to run in '08 before news of his illegitimate daughter came out, but I doubt he'd have had a prayer of beating Hilary anyway. If people were swayed by the idea of a "novelty president," Hilary would have 110 percent of the female vote right now. It's not enough this time around to plug my nose, unless the vote is within 500,000 ballots in California. Thankfully, we're a diverse bunch, so I expect my third party vote won't mean bupkiss to the overall result.
Sometimes he is just running his moutg, a lot of the time even, and while that didn't hurt him in the primary it does seem to be hurting him in the general judging by recent polls. So he might be a master with GOP voters he doesn't seem to be fairing well with the wider general election voters.
Oh that's right - I forgot all about McCain. Basically the Republicans threw in the towel - like they did in 2012.
It's not his racism, it's his verbal dick waving that they love. An educated friend of mine said that he disagreed with Trump on a lot of things, but was planning on voting for Trump because he liked how Trump would tell reporters to shut up. What excites them about Trump is not that he wins, but that he humiliates his opponents. And let's face it, he's good with the zingers. His "Maybe she should be running" retort to Jeb's statement that his mother was the strongest woman he knew, is brilliant. Not only is it short and pithy, but it degrades Jeb. He could have talked about how Melania grew up under a Communist government, faced all kinds of hardship that no one born in America, especially not if they're as wealthy as the Bushes, would ever know, and still managed to become a success in her own right, before marrying Trump. That'd win the game of oneupmanship, if that's what Trump was playing, but he's not. He's playing, "It's not enough just for me to win, I have to pull your pants down and laugh at your dick when I do." His comments about illegal aliens are popular not because they're against a particular nationality, they're popular because he calls them "rapists." He could say that any illegal alien was "likely to be a rapist, because if they weren't intent on being a criminal, they'd go through the necessary legal steps to enter the country lawfully" and they'd love it. His wall is popular because unlike increased border patrols, it's a highly visible "fuck you" to anyone wanting to cross the border. That's Trump's solution to everything: Fuck the other guy, and they love him for it.
Too early to tell. Get some kind of big, scary, event a month or so before the election, say a terrorist attack in the US or Europe, or just another nutter shooting up a crowded place, and it could be enough to shift things in his direction.
Big, scary events have been happening like clockwork for over a year. The West is on fire. The more violence, the more suppression out of the ministries of propaganda and social media: MSM, Zuckerberg and failing Jack Dorsey. Donald Trump is performing well because he considers all of this a problem.
Guys, trump uses something trolls have known forever. People get behind the one doing the insulting. It does not matter how horrible the troll is, they always get backers, and it is not a few. Trump has been cultivating his powers for a lot longer than this president thing. He was in a great position for a presidential troll. I don't think other trolls could pull this sort of thing off because they do not have his money or years of fame. As a troll he has to do this. It is his nature. Just like it is the nature of people to get behind a loud mouth troll who they would normally hate just because he attacks people, and I am not even sure who he attacks matters. Oh, and trump cannot fuck up at this point because he never should have been here to begin with.
Actually the touch screens on the Kindle are rather cheap. I ended up just giving mine away to a friend.
Even with GOP voters, I'd argue that he was only a master of about 40%. He never won more than that until he was the only guy left in the room. That says to me that 60% really didn't like him all that much, but couldn't agree on an alternative. Many of those 60% are holding their nose and supporting him now, but some aren't, and he can't expand much further, because anybody who can at all stomach the idea of not voting Republican won't, not when he is the Republican at any rate.
We will see how many end up voting libertarian but I suspect the libs will ultimately stay in the high single digits. If they break out into the low double digits that would be a sign that Republican voters are looking for an alternative.
If Gary Johnson polls at 15%, he gets a spot in the debates. A part of me thinks Trump may be driving his polls lower to make this happen.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/ep...rump_vs_clinton_vs_johnson_vs_stein-5952.html Hillary is ahead by 4-5 points and both of the independents are in single digits. Johnsom is doing much better than Stein which may be because more Republicans are disastisfied by their nominee.
Real Clear Politics uses a weighted average. That tends to be more accurate. Even when you look at the individual polls that one seems like an outlayer.
