Trumpite Americans, when will you finally acknowledge that you’re traitorous assholes?

We have to flush these assholes out of communist circles, too. If you've ever heard of "MAGA Communism," you already know how full of shit they are. I don't like the war in Ukraine, I believe the US is manipulating it on multiple levels, but as I said months ago, I'm no fan of Putin.

A case can be made that NATO was pushing for some kind of conflict, and Putin responded, and you can make a case whether or not what he did was justified, and that's about the extent of it. I don't like him, he longs for the days of the Tsars and Imperial Russia, and I don't support that. Right wingers will infiltrate any movement in order to change the narrative. They get expunged pretty quickly but there's always a new grifter to grab a few more.

Marxist-Leninists do not support Putin: he represents blatant imperialism and capitalism, the very thing we push back against. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend, and these people are absolutely full of shit. Right now they're against Ukraine because Joe Biden is for it. If Trump were president, they'd be for the war in Ukraine. It's not difficult to see how their contrarian ideology works.

I agree, except for the reality Trump supports Putin and he obviously tried to weaken Ukraine for him. I used to think that the brainwashing about Russia was so strong that there was no way the right would ever follow Trump and the republicans to being full on traitors to america and operatives for a Russian invasion of america simply because one of their leaders went full Russian.

It just goes to show freedom and patriotism were just hollow words from the right because they were in charge and had fascist white christian male supremacy enforced through laws and the police. As soon as a black man became president they dropped their illusion and openly started undermining america as a nation. When they thought they owned america they were all for hating on russia, but as soon as their full control cracked just the tiny bit they went running to mother russia who they were always jealous of for their white male christian fascism. If Nazi Germany were around today they would be begging whatever Hitler crotch dropping was in charge to invade.

People like FF and UA think no one sees them for what they are. They bett6er hope Russia comes to help them if they ever go full civil war because America will not settle for surrender and letting them live this time. We will gut them in the public square and take everything from any of their traitorous allies, and we are not erecting any statues to their sick families. Putin is not coming to save you because he cannot barely hold some small area of Ukraine in a full on battle. You have a long wait for him to get to the heartland of america over the ocean and though the US. I do not know how long FF is going to last hold up in a subway waiting for some criminals from moscow to rescue him from those black people he hates so much.

Trump certainly supports Putin, they're birds of a feather in many cases. Both come off as men of the people, when in reality they serve their wealthy benefactors. It's kind of funny watching hardcore conservatives who, 6 years ago, would have called any president associating with Russia to be an America hating communist (lol), but the moment Trump was on board, suddenly it was patriotic to stand up as an ally with Russia.

It was certainly fascinating watching how many "God fearing Christians" immediately took to worshiping the golden calf in the MAGA hat. It's reactionary politics from people who don't want to have to parse out what is good and what is bad, but would like a strong man who fits the right criteria (white, rich, male) to act like a King who will bestow upon them the Lord's wishes.

Now, I don't share the Russophobia some people do. I also don't pretend Putin's in over his head and about to lose. People have been saying that since the war started, with the finish line moved a few months further forward each time. Putin's engaging in limited strikes. If he wanted to kill everyone, he could, and if it was anything other than a war of attrition, he likely would have, but he hasn't. This is more like a campaign, much like what the US does in other countries like Syria, Afghanistan, et. al., so that while there is always men and materiel being funneled into the war machine, it's not on the same level as, say, when the US took on Vietnam and got its ass soundly kicked. Perhaps Putin is shortsighted enough to end up being shunned by Ukraine like the US was in regards to Vietnam, but it's still too soon to tell, and the primary difference is this time it's the US providing $50 - $100 billion in war funding, and Ukraine hasn't won back its ceded territory.

The truth is this war puts us all in danger, and the US has no interest in peace. Those old cold war wounds never healed, and since Trump likes Russia, it's so very easy for the centrists and liberals in the government to openly push back against Russia for doing what the US does every day in countries around the world. It's condemned because it's politically advantageous. While you and many others care about the people of Ukraine, the US truly does not give a shit outside of resource interests. This isn't about freedom. Anyone who knows the history of the US would laugh their asses off when a general stands in front of the podium and says with a straight face it's about freedom or democracy. That's horseshit, and anyone who falls for that is a simpleton.

It's about moving money, and it's about resources. Putin's position was that NATO was breathing down his neck despite promising in the Munich agreement that it would not expand to Russia's borders. Does that justify attacking Ukraine? Not necessarily. The Donbas region being shelled by Ukrainian forces because it harbored a large population of separatists, shelling that was happening right next to the Russian border. Does that justify attacking Ukraine? Not necessarily.

Has the US attacked countries for less? Absolutely. No one should ever take the US at face value when it claims to fight for some country's freedom. That is, without a doubt, a lie straight from the deepest pile of shit you've ever seen.

The US has become a hotbed of reactionary politics. Trump likes Russia? So the Democrats hate Russia. The Democrats hate Russia? The Republicans love Russia. The Republicans love Russia? Well, that means anything they say against Zelensky and Ukraine is propagated by Putin bots. While they're at it, anyone who says anything against Zelensky and Ukraine is a paid Putin shill. It goes on and on and on, ad nauseam, no one learns anything, no one stops and reflects on anything, it's just hopping from one hot reaction to another. Some people do it because they care, others do it because they're ignorant, and others do it because it's entertaining watching people rush to defend themselves against being called anything other than fiercely patriotic.

Well, I'm not a patriot. I do not offer any allegiance to this country, I care about it's people, but it's government is grossly incompetent, inadequate, and slowly killing most of us through poverty, disease, and neglect. The US, Russia, Ukraine, the European Union getting involved, we're all sitting on a ticking time bomb, and sitting on the very apex of the point of that giant nuclear warhead is a bunch of squabbling politicians playing musical chairs while they dump money into dark military budget accounts, never to be seen again. Unless we can pull ourselves away from that ground zero of malevolent incompetence, we're all going to die, and then no one's going to get to see Strange New Worlds season 2.

I think even you care about the people of Ukraine suffering from the hardships of the power machine. In that regard I also care about the people of Russia who are facing hardships over the powerful having their pissbaby fit. I do not think America, or even the world, has a good way to end the war. I would like it to stop because those people had homes and lives. I do support throwing them some weapons to defend themselves from the attackers, but I have a legitimate fear that those weapons may turn into a huge problem if the enraged Ukranians destroy the powerless Russian lives by a vengeful strike and reverse invasion into russian territory.

I do totally agree with you that these weapons are not hbeing sent by our powerful based on any of those ideas or morals. It is all for profit and power for Biden and the Dems. If there was no power or money to be gained through helping the Ukranians it would be like the horrors of military conflicts in Africa where we let this stuff happen to their peoples and don't make this much of an issue. We will always allow the sale of conventional arms because money for the MIC is money for Joe, Bush, and the republidems.

I do get a good laugh at a lot of the hippies of the 60's woodstock erawho went out and lived on communes and were called pinko communists who are now all about hating on communism and managing their stock portfolios while not wanting to have social safety nets, but don't touch their social security. They have the same blindness for the reality they have social security and communal living in their idealism but communism and socialism is an evil fascist plot to kill us all and can never be good in any way. They disregard the reality that the abuses of capitalism have killed their family wealth, destroyed their friend's family's wealth, and has allowed the people in their lives to die on the street or without basic medical care.

I have had this argument with my dad who was a fucking hippie and rebelled against his parents ideals and was meathead to my mother's father. Now he listens to Bill Maher and reads the New York Post. Socialism is always fucking evil, and communism is the way Stalin is going to kill us all? You are on social security and lived on a fucking commune. Bill Maher has him wound up like Rush and Bill O had my grandfather wound up. Yes, there is an improvement, but hope I die before I get old if this is getting old.

I also knjow it is a lie that this is getting old. I have been hanging out with 3 elderly jews for the weekend, and they like different people and did not go Bill Maher stupid. For all of Bill Maher's hate of his jewish people, I have met so many accepting loving jews who are charitable and care about people. Give me a break with that atheists are not douchebags crap because I have seen the atheist community go full on CHUD much more than I have seen orthodox jews.

I do care about the people of Ukraine, absolutely. I despise war. To quote an oft used phrase in left circles, "no war but class war."
I believe we can thank Reagan for turning the hippies into corporate sycophants. They gave up the patchouli, the peace sign, and the proverb, and embraced the cold hard business of capitalism. The boomer generation (not all of them, obviously) made their fortunes and started selling human life and human dignity back to the succeeding generations piece by piece. Now we live in a world where human interaction is commodified, and parceled out in single serving packets. They are the greatest hypocrites of them all, and they look at our generations and mock us for not wanting to live in the world they created. We deserve better. All of us.

Looking back, the establishment of wealth for the white middle class came from regulations and benefits created because of corporate horrors. In the early 1900s corporations enslaved their workers and customers. People's bodies were physically chewed up in industrial manufacturing until OSHA was created. Workers had established benefits that allowed them to buy unheard of levels of property and belongings, while saving and investing in their future retirement and community growth. We had huge corporate taxes on profit. We had social development programs of all sorts. We had infrustructure development for multiple modes of transportation and Utilities. Yes, it was all for white people, and mainly men, but they cut their own kids and neighbors off by corrupting it all. They knew to tax the fuck out of business, and regulate the hell out of it to make better society. At least their parents did, and now all of those people are dying in their elderly years having sold their children to the same corporations their parents fought to get their children free of.

The headline writer appears to have been sloppy. The law doesn't ban contact with elected officials, which would be a direct First Amendment violation, but it does ban assignments involving communication with elected officials. (Which, before anyone insists that teachers are screaming in kids' faces that they have to write their legislators saying "Dear Sir, I want to be trans because teacher told me to," generally consist of "write a letter to an elected official saying anything you want.")

The good news from Idaho is that a bi partisan group of heavy hitters has started a ballot initiative drive that would do away with closed primaries and impose ranked choice voting. It takes a 60% super majority to pass initiatives, if it meets the other requirements, but it happened with Medicaid expansion. You can bet your ass I will be signing the petition if I’m asked. I really think a lot of Idahoans are getting fed up with the extremist right wing bullshit. Whether it’s enough to get this initiative passed…. :clyde:
