I say "fuck a wall." Why do I say this? If illegal immigrants are taking jobs, imprison the people hiring them! Problem solved. If they are dealing drugs, I have a solution......don't buy the drugs, drug users. Problem solved. If you are pulled over for speeding and the cops run your license/registration/insurance data and you are an illegal? You are deported. Problem solved. It's kind of like tax evasion:nobody can physically stop you from not paying your taxes. It's kind of an "honor system? thing. But if you don't pay and are caught, you suffer the consequences.
There was no government then so, duh, no legal or illegal. We are talking about modern times after governments exist. Nice try at distracting though.
There was a government. Just because it wasn't a government of white people doesn't mean it didn't exist.
Yup, just as I said above, this idiot doesn't even know what an economic migrant is. He thinks an economic migrant is someone who enters and remains illegally for the sole purpose of seeking welfare. Hell, in the UK you can't even get benefits if you're illegal or on most limited length visas. An economic migrant is anyone who who migrates for the purpose of improving their standard of living. This means that it includes anyone who enters and remains legally and who never claimed a penny of welfare at any point. The racist @Dinner plays innocent as usual, but his underlying agenda is there for all to see as he casually conflates any type of economic migrant with criminal activity. What's more, he claims to respect legal migrants but forgets to add that if they're not from a race or religion he hates, that respect suddenly disappears. Totally fucking dishonest.
Again, the question is not whether to have laws, but whether your laws are good laws. Just because almost every nation has labour laws doesn't mean a law allowing slavery is a good law. Just because almost every nation has immigration laws doesn't mean a law that criminalizes migrant workers sorely needed by your economy and law-abiding in every other way is a good law. Yes, but not my street. A country isn't private property. You do not suffer any damages from migrants setting foot in your country.
This is what confounds me about the modern conservative agenda: treating national politics as if it were a single family home. Problem with the neighbors? Build a fucking fence! Economic issues? Balance the budget! It ignore the realities of being a country, rather than a shitty suburban home. Then again, that's all modern conservatives will ever amount to: paying down a mortgage on some shitty house in Bumfuck, Nowhere.
But nobody here let them in. We have a republican form of government, a government of laws, that lays out rules about immigration. Who can come in, for how long, etc. People shouldn't be allowed to toss that aside just because it suits their on personal ends.
And how did that unrestricted immigration idea go for the state of Texas, Mexico? Oh, a bunch of Americans showed up, took over, and declared themselves an independent country. Then they kicked out the Mexicans.
Britain has a lot of cute little islands that could be taken over by American tourists any time we want. We could just show up and start demanding our rights. We would of course outnumber the natives and vote to break away from the British empire. In fact, Americans could do that to most of Central America. Would you be protesting that we have the right to flock into small countries like Belize and just take over?
So you're saying the only thing keeping that from happening is that Americans aren't allowed to enter Britain?
You should visit one of those islands and then walk out to sea with cannonballs chained to your ankles.
"Allowed" is the operative word. What if we just ignored what British law was? What if the British ignored what British law was? What if we demanded free health care, no deportations, and the right to vote in island elections? We have the numbers to collapse the system. For example, the British Virgin Islands has a population of less than 30,000. That's about a half-dozen cruise ships worth of tourists. We could just sail from island to island in the Caribbean taking them over one by one, putting in right-wing Baptist governments that obey the US Constitution and the Bible. That's one reason why little countries have rules for "guests", and why everybody talks about the Yanquis. In Mexico we're not allowed to own a house within a few miles of the beach. Not only would we signal our invasion fleet, we'd soon own all the houses within a few miles of the best beaches.
1) The reason every country has immigration laws is because they are sorely needed. 2) Fuck you if you think regular every day workers are not harmed by the flood of criminal illegal aliens. The regularbpeople's wages get pushed down, they have to compete against 3rd world peasants who should never even be here on price, the schools their kids go to get strapped for resources due to all the uneducated illegal anchor babies sucking up every available cent, prisons get packed with these criminals, normal citizens become the victims of crimes perpetrated by these illegal criminals, the welf are office gets over loaded by ilegals and anchorus babides trying to get free stuff... The list goes on and on and you would have to be blind not to see the massive negative impacts caused by illegal aliens. The law is good, the law is fair, and the law needs to start being enforced.
Nope. There were no organized governments in North America. Just chif tons and more often big man style tribes. All the tribes which later did band toget her to form governments did so due to pressure from white settlers (see Cherokee, Iroquis, etc...)
Then you could found your own nation, not subservient to the King. But only if you assume that bad laws deserve to be changed.
And for the same reason, you need good ones. If you believe that, that is what you need to argue for, not just quote the law. Show your work. Economists say that the US economy profits greatly from immigrants' labour, legal as well as illegal; where is the counterproof? Note that, as so many have said here, the right legislative and executive reaction to bad labour conditions is outlawing and enforcing laws against extortive contracts, not removing the people subjected to bad conditions. Anything else would be like saying it's unfair that gays can't marry, so let's deport all the gays.
We are the deciders. We decided what form of government Germany needs to take for its laws to be valid. They agreed.
Yeah, I'll bet those savages didn't even have title deeds to their lands; their claims would have never have stood up in court!
They had no government nor even any system of writing. Hell, most of them died of disease before ever seeing a white man. But you know this just like you know your position supporting illegal alien criminals is indefensible and that is why you try to come up with nonsequitor from 500 years ago to distract people.
