We should show our appreciation by giving them a deep discount on an up-to-date integrated air defense system and 500 Javelin anti-tank rockets.

Except this time, half the Warsaw Pact is on our side.

The Russians are pissed because their defense system has been dismantled. It used to be 1200 kms from a potential enemy state in Europe to Russian soil.

    Now it's 20.

The problem is they still think in terms of land = security, when no one in their right mind would invade Russia with conventional arms.

But they have a right to be pissed, as the US has pressed it's diplomatic advantage as far as it could possibly go, and we've broken numerous security agreements with them about the expansion of NATO.

But the fact of the matter is their former Warsaw Pact puppets and former enslaved member states are pretty pissed at them and willing to work with the US.

The talk of the Bear being resurgent is overstated in my opinion. They simply aren't getting kicked in the ribs any more.

But it's their own damn fault, and I've got no sympathy for them.

It comes down to this. The Russians prefer to maintain control over "client states". We prefer to work with allies.

Sooner or later we are going to have to smoke Russia. They are becoming as bad as on of those piss ant middle east countries. There corruption is so deep that they cannot let it go, just as it is in Mexico.

I usually start small (Australia or South America) and then work my way to North America or Africa.
