Because the implication in your response to Dan is that it is Dan's position is that no muslims have commited comparable atroicities. But that isn't what he was saying. He was responding to the suggestion that Islam is one and only chief offender of religious motivated violence in modern history but pointing out that it is not, specifically that the single biggest atrocity.

His one and only point was that the idea that there is no violence in other religions is a fallacy. Want another example? How about the ethnic cleansing of Kosovan Albanian Muslims by Orthodox Christian Serbs back in the 1990s.
