It really is probably best to not think about any of these and many other questions that come up from that bit of Infinity War.
It’s also the only stone that wasn’t introduced in a previous movie. And the only one where we don’t really know what it’s function is. I think they just had to cram it into the movie somehow. I would also have liked to have seen Thanos attacking Xandar in the opening scene to obtain the Power Stone. They just skipped over that.
Aww, if Chadwick had lived, we were going to get a Starlord T'Challa show. https://www.darkhorizons.com/star-lord-tchalla-spin-off-was-planned/
I thought the finale was awesome, but I really would have liked to have seen The Watcher grab Tony and Gamora. Strange was the best part of this episode though.
The finale was quite weak compared with some of the other episodes, including the penultimate one. Although the scene at the end of the credits was a nice touch.
I'd be interested to hear @AlphaMan's take on the final episode, given we've been pretty much in agreement so far on the series...
Ever wonder why this season was only nine episodes instead of the usual ten? Ever wonder what was up with Gamora in the season finale? Wonder no more.
Hey, yeah! I had wondered what was up with the Iron Man variant! I thought I didn't pay hard enough attention to the Starlord-T'Challa episode or something.
Let’s see… how should I put this… VIVA LAS VEGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS! I’ve been trying to put my finger on exactly why this show worked so well for me… I think the episodic nature of it felt more “comic book-y” to me. The fact that the producers were able to let their imaginations fly without worrying about long term consequences was awesome. Definitely on board for S2 and I hope we don’t have to wait that long for it.
Book of Boba Fett is being released in Nov or Dec. then Kenobi, then Ahsoka. At least, that’s the Star Wars lineup. Which is what I’m interested in now. Hawkeye will be cool and I’ll watch it. But, mostly I’m stuck on Star Wars lately. Haven’t been this hyped about it since just before the release of The Empire Strikes Back.
The L.A. Times definitely did not like the series. https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/tv/story/2021-10-06/what-if-marvel-disney-finale
I feel like that was written by someone unfamiliar with the What If comics, or possibly comic books in general. Maybe even the multiverse concept in general. And the Watcher didn't bring in "a million Captain Marvels" to beat up InfinityTron because his plan wasn't about power levels, it was about using misdirection and basically pulling off a heist. The moment someone holding all the stones realizes they're well and truly fucked in a fair fight, they can just finger snap their opponents to dust. Ultron never did that because he felt it would be safe and fun to destroy the Guardians normally.
Honestly, I'm done reading negative reviews. The internet is oversaturated with websites and bloggers so desperate for views that they're throwing out every criticism they can think of for everything just to get someone to look. AVClub had an entire article complaining that What If sucked because all the stories were tragic and apocalyptic one day before the Party Thor episode. Then they posted an article a few days after that complaining that What If sucked because the stories weren't truly standalone and people were inevitably going to get sick of stories that require homework to understand, as though What If wasn't intentionally designed from the beginning to appeal to viewers/readers with at least a passing familiarity with the Marvel stories that inspired them. I'm fine with reviews that point out glaring inconsistencies or say "that could have been better," but I'm too old to waste my time reading mindless hate. "The Zhat Vash having one secret planet killing dreadnought makes sense, having a secret fleet of hundreds of them during an ongoing refugee crisis does not" is a valid criticism, "Picard sucks and is awful SJW anti-Trump garbage and robots can't be half Filipino, this entire show is hot garbage" is not.
The glove Tony built was in good shape when everyone was playing keep away with it after the first snap.
My understanding is Ahsoka will be post Return of the Jedi, starting with the last scene from Rebels where Ahsoka meets up with Sabine and they go find Ezra. They may do flashbacks from the book - and probably should as that would explain to the audience why Ahsoka didn’t show up in the original trilogy. If she and Kenobi meet up, it will have to be force ghost Kenobi as Ahsoka mentioned in Rebels that something to the affect that she didn’t know any other Jedi that survived. I believe she is rumored to also speak to force ghost Anakin.
Ahsoka at least knew about Yoda surviving from talking to him in the Jedi Temple. It's possible she assumed he was a Force Ghost, but you'd think she'd have asked him that...
