I've been able to vote since 2000. Since then I voted 00Bush, 04Bush, and 08McCain. I'm two for three and will be voting for Romney when i get off work. What is your voting record?
84 - Reagan 88 - Bush 92 - Perot 96 - Dole 00 - Bush 04 - Badnarik 08 - Obama 12 - Johnson Didn't vote in 80 due to lack of interest. Before that I was too young, altho in sixth grade we did a "pretend" election wherein I voted for Nixon. I voted for Obama in 08 because the reality-impaired were in need of a lesson in what happens when they get their way. Sadly, the lesson has not been learned and many still support Obama despite his dismal record. This year I can't hold my nose tightly enough to vote for Romney, so it's Libertarian for me.
80 - woulda been Anderson but not old enough. I was a non-conformist even then and came around late on Reagan 84- Reagan 88 - Bush with nose held 92 - Perot as protest, didn't like the guy 96 - Kemp (I prefered to ignore that Dole was at the top of the ticket) 00 - third party (whoever was the libertarian candidate - party building vote) 04 - ditto 08 - ditto 12- Johnson, because I actually want him to be president, not just party building.
80 - would've been Anderson but I was only 17 84 - Ronnie 88 - Bush the Elder 92 - Slick Willie 96 - Slcik Willie 00 - Gore 04 - W 08 - McCain 12 - Mittens
84 - Reagan 88 - Bush 92 - Clinton 96 - Clinton 00 - Gore 04 - Libertarian Candidate 08 - Paul 12 - Johnson (If Mo were to be close, I'd vote for Obama)
84- Reagan 88- Bush 92- Bush 96- Dole 00- Didn't vote 04- Voted CP- can't remember who he was! 08- Voted CP- ditto 12- Romney
First election 1976. Wins: 6 Losses: 3 Abstained (Voted Anderson in 80): 1 Lost in 1976 (fuck Carter) and 2008/12 (fuck Carter Part II)
08 - Obama 12 - Obama I couldn't vote before 08, however I would have voted for Kerry in 04 and Gore in 2000, and Clinton in 1996 and 1992 (I was born in 1990).
97 - Labour 01 - Labour 05 - Labour 10 - Tory 100% record. I would have voted Tory in 2001 & 2005, as by then I was voting Tory in local elections, but didn't consider William Hague or Michael Howard viable candidates for Prime Minister over Blair, who was psuedo-Tory anyway.
Oh, you're looking for winners and losers? I literally have never counted it that way, but it seems "I" won three times, and when I voted for the new Pirate party, they got a respectable 2% no-one was expecting, so... ...I guess I'm less of an original thinker than I originally thought.
I've always voted for the social democrats in my country, just for the record, although they are a little bit too far left for my taste. But there is no real centrist party in Switzerland. Ok, there is a centrist party, but the have a "C" in their name... I don't need religion and politics mixed together.
