So which one do you like best?

Tie fighters, X-Wing, Buck Rogers Earth, Colonial Viper, Cylon Raider, other?

Personally my favorites are the Colonia Viper (classic) from BSG and the Buck Rogers earth fight (one Marso has for his Avatar).

Hell, here are a few of my own invention. I drew up the designs when I invented the fighter for one of my manuscripts way back when. Seen for the first time ever by eyes other than my own, the Raven, Skyfox, and Starhawks MK I and II.

It's hard to pick a favorite- damn hard.

But I think top prize would have to go to the MKII Viper from nuBSG. I didn't used to think it was really possible to improve upon the original, but the MKII is a definite improvement.

    2nd place: The X-wing

    3rd place: VF-19 Valkyrie

    4th place: Buck's Starfighter

    Honorable Mention: Gunstar 1.

Here's another shot of the Gunstar from the Last Starfighter:

And Hawk's Fighter from the abortion-of-a-second-season of Buck Rogers. In fact, this design was about the only good thing to come out of S2:

EDIT- scaled properly, the gunstar pic would make a nice av.

Interestingly, they seem to have borrowed one of the Macross designs for the GDI transport in the new Command & Conquer: Tiberium Wars game.

Always liked the Starfury and Buck's fighter, and the Viper Mk. II is probably my favourite, but let's have a shout out for this baby:

Yeah, I hardly ever took anything else out unless the mission called for taking out a cap ship bigger than a Nebulon-B frigate.

Only ship that beat it in those games was the TIE Avenger/TIE Defender.
