What makes libtards think these hysterical, fringe positions are a path to winning in 2020? Do they really think mainstream America is with them on this? Eliminate border control (mass execute ICE employees if 14th Douche and John get their way) and erase the southern border?

    Really?

It's like the left is determined to lose.

The left in this country must really think they have the country on their side. They don't.

The Democrats in DC are shitting bricks. They've unleashed a monster and they no longer have any control over it. It's going to consume them.

I don’t agree with these positions, and they’re definitely fringe. However:

    1. It would be important to note how many Dem candidates are actually running on this.

    2. Recall the Tea Party wave of 2010 ran with calls to abolish the Federal Reserve and other fringe stances. It never happened, but still they control Congress. The GOP has shown us for the past generation that energizing the base is the way to win first-past-the-post elections.

It is not a winning strategy. If Dems want to win they need to get the middle 40% and going extreme left will not work for them any better than going extreme right did for Republicans. In the primaries of both parties the most extreme candidate tends to win but that is usually not true in the general election. Saying you want to end border enforcement is not a winner with the middle 40%. Fact.

Well, that is a stupid statement. Yes, it is not a winner but around 10% of dems, all from hyper liberal districts or who are aiming for the 2020 primary have endorsed it; that is it. It is hardly a widely held position and most of those who do say it are just pander bears.

    Not sober tonight?

I didn't say the Democrats in DC support abolishing ICE. I said they unleashed a monster and lost control of it. Now it's making them all look bad.

The Democrats are in a corner of their own making. Can't outright support ICE because the loud-obnoxious leftists would be foaming at the mouth and yet can't outright call for abolishing ICE because the majority of the country doesn't support getting rid of ICE even if they don't like what's been happening lately.

The Fed needs to, at the very least, be audited. That would be a good first step.

Zombie needs to stop huffing jenkem. No, there is not a movement to abolish ICE beyond extremist activists nor are any more than a tiny, tiny minority in favor of it.

Here's another stupid thing the Democrats did:

The Republicans playing politics in a midterm election year put up a resolution about supporting ICE. Of course all the Republicans voted for it.

Out of the Democrats? Only 18 voted for it. Thirty-four voted no. One-hundred and thirty-three voted present.

The Republicans are going to use that to accuse the Democrats of not supporting ICE. No matter how the Democrats spin it the Republicans are just going to say the ones who voted present did so because they are too chicken shit to come out against ICE OR too chicken shit to stand up to the loony left that wants open borders and say they support ICE.

Again for the low-IQ racist: I didn't say there was a movement to abolish ICE beyond a tiny minority.

The Democrats failed to get a solid grip on the ICE thing however and now it looks like the party doesn't support ICE at all. Those 18 Democrats who voted to support ICE? Being attacked by the left.

    The monster is loose.

Democrats on the horns of a dilemma.

When a Republican candidate accuses a Democrat opponent of being against ICE (and therefore for illegal immigration), the Democrat is backed into a corner: they either come out in favor ICE and contribute to a growing schism in the party, or they oppose ICE and put themselves on the losing side of the illegal immigration issue.

You can't vote "present" in a televised debate.

Beto got screamed at during a campaign rally for wanting to hold ICE accountable instead of abolishing it.

People like that are going to get Ted Cruz re-elected.

    Exactly.

Holding ICE accountable for its fuckups, and there are many fuckups, is a good thing. Yet the Democratic candidate is being attacked by his own side because he won't support abolishing it.
