Why is Seattle such a shithole?

It isn't a mystery. It is literally a shithole for the same reason San Francisco is.

Very sad to see the city like that. When I was there briefly a couple years ago I saw a lot of homeless and people with mental issues and I was in the heart of the city. They were all over the place.

I didn't see the camps though because I didn't have time to go out of the city center.

I do think they need to do what Rhode Island is doing and of course they need to stop the freebies and start arresting everyone with drugs on them.

You do realize most people who do and have drugs on them are employed people with homes who pay taxes and it would not only decrease tax revenue but also take large numbers of taxpayers and make them prisoners so the state would have to pay for them?

This who think it is just homeless and unemployed people who do drugs are fucking stupid and clueless. Do you think dealers just hand drugs to the homeless? No, you fucking moron. Drugs cost money, and dealers are not in the habit of giving them away to bums.

What a fucking moron you are. Most people who do drugs have money because they have jobs. Most of the drug use I have seen is done at home or in clubs at parties. If you do them on the street you are far more likely to get caught and jailed which is why the poor get jailed far more often for something that runs way up in society.

Oh, and being a republican you have voted for at least two men who do a lot of drugs like cocaine. Little Bush's girls were not the only one doing coke, he did it too. Donald trump was well known in NY for being connected and having parties where cocaine and hookers were done by him and his guests. You go into Westchester and Manhattan and go to the upscale parties Coke is all over the place along with pills. Most people doing things like oxy are getting them prescribed by doctors they pay for. The abused psych meds and legal pain killers are gotten with money from doctors that charge. Even things like heroin runs right through middle to upper class kids with parents that give them things like cash and cars.

I have never hung out in a gutter to do drugs, and most of the people I know who do drugs have upscale connections they find among their people because you run a risk of getting robbed or ripped off if you start hunting around poor areas outside of your comfort zone for a connect.

There has never been any evidence of that. The guy who claimed it was the man who attempted to murder his girlfriend who also wrote a ST:TNG trivia book. He claimed that Karl Rove told him that George W. Bush used cocaine. The guy later committed suicide.

drug overdose. I originally read about it in The Atlantic though the Wikipedia article does not use The Atlantic as a source. The Wikipedia article says that Hatfield wrote a James Bond related book (vanity publication) while The Atlantic article said it was a self published Star Trek book. Hatfield reportedly saying that "anything about Star Trek made money".

Actually Hatfield seems to have had a pretty significant interest in writing science fiction related material.

It would have been normal for someone running in his circles to have come in contact with it and done it. That is what I am saying. He would have partied at college when he was there. It would have been available, he would have had the money for it, and he would have been among people who enjoyed it. If he did not do it I would be shocked and amazed, and it really is not that serious that he did. The higher up and closer to power and money you go the more that is available, and the more people take advantage of it. They just do not get busted for it unless they are way out of control or piss someone off. Little Bush was not his father. He would have partied and done coke.

Don't get me wrong, I have no doubt both Bill Clinton and Obama have done coke for the very same reason. I could go either way on old Bush, but I am pretty sure he had done some while away. Reagan most certainly did. He was an actor in Hollywood. Nixon and carter most probably did it too. Hillary did it.

They are not addicts or junkies, but they were in a safe place among some high up people and they do it because it is like champagne. It is a mark of privilege. It is an upper that is not disorienting. It is like smoking in that you can do it and be functional and conversational. It is not sloppy like getting drunk, and it does not slow you down like weed. Trump did a debate on the stuff. I know what a coke sniff sounds like.

The odd people are the ones who have not done some drugs beyond alcohol. When you get up there in money and power it is still there. Why do you think there are no drug tests for politicians?

That's not reasonable. In college I went to a party (fraternity party for freshman prospects) and there was plenty of alcohol there and people were using cocaine. I didn't touch either one.

Of course I was mainly there because of a girl a year older than me that I was highly interested in. Oh well. Three years of striking out. I still have her coed calendar picture in my scrapbook though Amy doesn't know that.

One of the dozens of people filmed laying drugged out on the sidewalk now says he isn’t homeless (just in permanent supportive housing because he is chronically homeless) and you think you can just hand wave away everything? You’d have to be as delusional as ANC to think that is how the real world works.

The mountains of garbage, the drug addicts, the homeless shitting and pissing every where... That is all real and so are the failed policies from idiots on the city council who prevent police from doing their jobs.
