The other big issue is liberal advocates always want to let street junkies be above the law so they decriminalize theft below $900, they order the police to not even ticket people for public drug use or carrying drugs less than 26 doses of say crack or heroin, public defication or urination is decriminalized even when public restrooms are available, they make it illegal to enforce vagrancy laws, etc... This creates a free for all and endangers public health. You have to enforce those laws and make them choose to either go to rehab or go to jail.

I know its been a long time since my sociology classes in college but I'm pretty sure that crimes rates are considered a lagging indicator of societal decay.

That is, the society goes down the shitter and then the crime rates start climbing.
